This lock really was as easy to install as they claim. I agree with a previous reviewer that the key can be a bit tricky, but as long as you change the battery periodically there should be no issue. According to the manufacturer, the 9-volt battery should last about 3 years! In addition, the lock gives warning signs when the battery is going low.
Locking the deadbolt from the outside is really a pleasure. You simply hit the Schlage key and turn the lock, it's that simple. Unlocking is a breeze as well, though you must enter the correct 4-digit PIN in order to get the lock to operate without the key.
Highly recommended.

Just got this and installed it. I didn't realize that aside from pushing the buttons you still have to turn the bolt to actuall lock and unlock, so it isn't fully electric and you can't just "slam and run" like I do when I am running late. But it is really nice not to have to frantically search for keys in my purse, and I can have my friends and cat sitter let themselves in without hiding a key in a bush. I'm a little miffed at Amazon at playing with the pricing on this. It went from $88 to $84 and now it's $99??? My neighbor wants one too and it is having trouble deciding if/when to buy...Customer Review: I love this lock

I've owned this lock for only a couple of weeks, but every time I leave the house or come back home, I think "I love my new lock". Installation was a breeze and took about 30 minutes, taking my time and reading all the directions. If I had to do it again, I could install it in 5 minutes. So far the lock works flawlessly. I used one of the keys just to try it out, but since the bolt is manually operated, I expect the batteries to last a long time and doubt that I will ever need a key. I will buy another one soon for my garage door just because this one is so nice.Customer Review: Great option for those with lots of visiting family!

I installed this in about 15 minutes from start to finish, including programming codes in for myself and others. It was easy to remove our old deadbolt (also a Schlage) and replace it with this one. It looks great from the outside and inside and makes our lives so much easier. We have tons of family who visit and rather than keeping track of extra keys, we now just program a code in for them! It takes less than a minute and they are then able to access our place as they wish. Of course, it is just as easy to remove the codes *wink wink* if needed.Customer Review: Fantastic Item for Securing Your Home

We were consistently running into problems with the number of house keys we had given out to: contractors, landscapers and house cleaners. At some point there's no way to track who's coming and going into your house and whether or not they left the keys.
This little gadget eliminates the issue. I can now program the lock with one-time or multiple use codes unique to each individual coming to my house. It installs as easy as any other deadbolt and programming new codes takes about 10 seconds. This has quickly become my favorite new gadget.
