Customer Review: Great lock, easy to install and use, but!

The lock is easy to and install and use, but I did have an interference problem with the paddle handle on my pella storm door. After installation, I could not get the storm door open due to the interior paddle handle on the storm door hitting the lock. To correct this I removed the handle on the storm door and re-installed it straight up to clear the lock. This allowed storm door to open and miss the lock, but the handle now hits the storm door frame and we have to pull the storm door shut. Not ideal but it was that or return the lock. With 5 people using the door this lock allows everyone easy access without the need for a key. Great product and so far the finish is holding up well.(6 months)Customer Review: Looks Great and Works Well

We purchased the Schlage Camelot Deadbolt Keypad and Handle set in the Aged Bronze finish to use on the front door of our home. The keypad is unobtrusive enough not to detract from the style of the set (deadbolt and handle).
The lock is fairly easy to program and very easy to operate. We had ours professionally installed, but the lock comes with clear and detailed installation instructions and Schlage's website (www.schlage.com) offers additional information if needed.
It is pricey, but we consider the combination of quality construction, security and visual appeal to be worth the cost. We are very pleased with this product.

Overall this is a very good looking lock with the obviously great feature of the keypad....BUT......when installing it, one of the 3 interior screws was not long enough to catch the other side of the lock!!!!! I have a standard size door. Thank God for my father-in-law who was able to file down the head of the screw and MAKE it fit....thanks dad! I called the customer service number on the back of the package and they told me that no one has reported that issue (so far). They took my info and are sending me out new screw packages. I installed this keypad lock along with the lock-free handle Schlage F10VACC716 Accent Passage Lever, Aged Bronze. They look great together and it took me less than an hour to install both, replacing a traditional door knob and deadbolt on our front door. I like that I don't need keys to get in my house anymore, and I like that you can assign new temporary codes for guests to come by without having to make keys. It feels solid and the directions for resetting/deleting/adding codes were pretty straightforward.Customer Review: Schlage electronic deadbolt

I purchased the Schlage electronic deadbolt to allow entry into our house in case I didn't have a key with me. It works very well. Only drawback that I see is that it needs to be placed on a solid door without a glass panel as the lock has a lever on the inside that operates the deadbolt. There is no option for key locking from the inside, only the lever. Locks only keep honest people out, so it's better to have a deadbolt that is key lockable from both sides if you have an exterior door with glass panels. No need making it easier for a thief to get in than is necessary.
