Tools and Hardware Reviews of Schlage BE365VCAM716 Camelot Keypad Deadbolt, Aged BronzeCustomer Review: Finally a decent simple, reliable design Summary: 5 Stars
I had one of those motor driven deadbolts and I was going through one unit a year. They were all stripping their gears because the bolt would be tight in the door frame and they would have to work hard to move the bolt. Those electric motor locks should only be installed under the most optimal free moving deadbolt doors, hence a show room, not a real life scenario. Now this lock doesn't use a motor, it relies on "human power" to move the bolt. It works perfect in it's simplicity and design. I'm sure it will last forever as long as the electronics hold up.
Customer Review: Perfect for landlords! Summary: 5 Stars
I installed this unit on my rental property. That way, when tenants move out, I don't have to change all the locks; I can just delete their keycode and input a new one (they don't get the key). I will certainly purchase another unit for the back entry to the house. This product features fantastic build quality, and it looks very impressive on the door.
EDIT: After a little more than a year, this product has worked so flawlessly that I am ordering a second one.
Customer Review: slim profile, attractive finish, simple to install & use Summary: 5 Stars
The aged bronze finish is attractive and the lock is simple to install and operate. The overall look is elegant and understated.
The compact keypad helps this deadbolt maintain a low profile on the outside, while a single 9 volt battery has the same impact on the inside.
The lock and keypad operations feel solid and are easy to use.
I'm very satisfied with this electronic deadbolt.
Customer Review: I want one on every door! Summary: 5 Stars
No tax + free shipping + an amazing product = a happy customer
This lock is great because it has a keypad with a keyed backup should the battery fail. Not only that the bolt is manually driven which will increase the longevity of the battery. Schlage estimates 3 years of life with 15 uses per day. Installation is a snap as is programming. I have a detached garage and it is SO nice to not need a key to get in! I love this thing!
Customer Review: Camelot keypad entry Summary: 4 Stars
This keypad lock should have been rated a "5" since it's a Schlage. But ... It was very difficult to install. An important screw was missing. Soft-head screws were supplied--one stripped out. The deadbolt itself extends only 1-1/4". The mounting screws were only about 1 inch long. You'll want to evaluate the hardware before installing the lock. As for the electronics, it is very sophisticated, yet has been simplified by Schlage.
