I have had one of these locks for about 2 years now. I cannot believe it, but the original
batteries are still working strong.
I love to be able to walk out the door without having to carry keys, it is very liberating
and convenient, especially if you have lost or misplaced your keys. You can also program
in a temporary combination to allow friends or workpeople to enter your home.
If I could I would ding 1/2 star because the programming is a bit difficult to understand,
you just have to go through that once.
Easy to install, easy to operate, sturdy and well built. 5/5

Not much more to say than has already been said - this is a quality product that is built well, is easy to operate and so far over 18 months use for me has performed flawlessly.

I am not going to repeat all of the positive comments made by previous reviewers. They are right. I installed it a few days ago. This is a great device, attractive, pretty easy to install and really easy to program and use. My wife really loves it. Since she has keyless entry and starting on her car, she no longer needs to dig thru her purse to find her keys, ever! That is both a convenience plus and a safety plus. It comes with a programming code that is used only to program the 4 digit codes, 2 default combinations (which can be deleted). It will accept up to 19 entry codes. I have programmed codes for everyone in the house, our friends that watch over things when we are away, the cleaning lady, the in-laws, etc.
Push just one button and turn the cylinder to lock. Could not be easier!
I agree with the earlier reviewer that recommended watching the installation video on the Schlage website prior to installation. Watching the video will give you some tips, althought included the printed installation instructions, are much more more clear after watching the video. (I hate these all picture instructions that come with stuff. I am able to read, and would like step by step written instructions accompanying the pictures. The narrated video solves that problem).
I also found it helpful to use a center punch to put 2 tiny dimples in our insulated metal door at the matching location where 2 little mounting pimples (for lack of a better word) protrude from the back of the exterior plate in order that it mounts flush.
I have no trouble recommending this product at all.

Replaced a key'd dead bolt with this item in under 15 minutes. Everything fit easily and worked as advertised. Liked that the battery does not pull the bolt as I think I would need to replace the battery very often, but instead, sets/removes a pin into the manual turn knob letting the user open the lock manually.
