I have had this deadbolt for almost a year now, and I am 100% pleased!! I had locked myself out of my house shortly before I bought it and vowed that will NEVER happen again. :-) I went to my local Home Depot and bought it just because it was a Schlage. Went home and I installed it within about 20-30 minutes. That is HUGE because I am not mechanically inclined.
I gave out codes to my neighbor (along with a key copy...just in case), friends, brother, etc. All different codes. I wrote them down and put it with the instructions in my file cabinet.
I highly recommend this product!!! It's made my life so much easier. No fumbling for keys in the cold or dark.

This Schlage keypad deadbolt lock was a much better buy through Amazon than through my local locksmith ($80 vs $280), and installation into the door's existing deadbolt hole was easy.
Schlage's installation instructions are printed in 3 languages (English, Spanish and French) with highly simplified graphic illustrations like you find on those cards on airlines that describe how to quickly exit the plane. These simplified instructions are great for installing the hardware, but don't clearly communicate how to program security codes for the keypad.
Luckily, there's an 800 number included in there so taht you can call Schlage for help.

I have had one of these locks for about 2 years now. I cannot believe it, but the original
batteries are still working strong.
I love to be able to walk out the door without having to carry keys, it is very liberating
and convenient, especially if you have lost or misplaced your keys. You can also program
in a temporary combination to allow friends or workpeople to enter your home.
If I could I would ding 1/2 star because the programming is a bit difficult to understand,
you just have to go through that once.

After years spent fumbling for keys I purchased 2 of these locks, one to go onto a set of french doors going onto a new screen porch and one for the door entering our garage. We couldn't be happier with them. I had a local locksmith change the cylinders to match our house key and installation was a snap. They are easy to program, look terrific and work as advertised. I am particularly please that the keypad lights up at a touch of a button - very helpful in a dark garage, and they lock with a simple twist. ...but it came missing two screws. One of the screws that holds the brass interior cover on, and the third screw that secures the lock through the door. It's a very substantial and secure product that works well, but it caused me to have to make a run to the hardware store which should not have been necessary. I didn't have the time to deal with returning it which would have cost me more than just buying th missing screws. This is how it was packed at the factory, it wasn't an Amazon issue. Now that it's installed, I'm very happy with it. It holds many combinations and programmed without difficulty.
