Tools and Hardware Reviews of Sensible Solutions 3020 Storm Shield 20-Foot Garage Door Threshold

Customer Review: Get yourself some liquid nails
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good product and once installed seems to perform as advertized. I had a problem with sand & rainwater blowing under my garage door. This product has stopped the sand very well, but we haven't had any rain since instalation.

the one problem was that there are only two tubes of adhesive provided & this isn't enough to install according to the instructions, so I just put down two straight beads & didn't fool with the zigzag bead in the center. This seemed suficiant.

the other thing is that the adhesive is very difficult to squeese out of the tubes if you have any Arthritis in your hands. It needs to come in a tube you can use in a caulking gun, like liquid nails.

Customer Review: Fairly Effective
Summary: 3 Stars

This threshold keeps out very litte from blowing into the garage. It is somewhat difficult to install and almost impossible to keep in a straight line. There is not enough adhesive provided for the installation so be prepared to go to your hardware store or somewhere to purchase some additional adhesive. If you get the adhesive outside the boundaries of the threshold it is quite a chore to clean up. On the plus side, the threshold is still firmly in place after about six months.

Customer Review: Garage Door Threshold
Summary: 4 Stars

Works as advertised, however, there is not enough adhesive included to install easily. I purchased some more locally (tube to use in a caulking gun) and I used about 3/4 of a tube on each 10' of threshold. Still a very small leak at the ends where the threshold strip, garage door railing, and wall terminate. I plan to either cut a little piece of the leftover threshold to fit this area , or just squirt a small bead of adhesive in that little gap.

Customer Review: Not bad, but would recommend a better adhesive.
Summary: 4 Stars

As others have noted the adhesive with this product is marginal. However, in my case, they sent a large tube for a chaulk gun, so I figured the manufacturer had upgraded from its previous glues. Bad mistake. The glue provided set unevenly, and moved even after about 48 hours the first time I drove over it. So, I pulled the strip up, scraped it and the floor and re-laid it with Liquid Nails. Now, it looks better and does the job.

Customer Review: garage door threshold
Summary: 5 Stars

Product works as advertised. Rain no longer gets under the garage door. I took the recommendation of other reviewer's and used Liquid Nails Ultra Duty Poly (polyurethane construction adhesive) to glue it down. This works with vinyl to concrete. Worked very well. Probably easier to use than the tube of adhesive provided, as it was used with chaulk gun and a better adhesive. It also cures faster.
