All of these "safes" of this type are absolute junk. It may be useful in a small fire, but a large, hot, house fire of more than 30 minutes will cook the contents. These also offer no protection from water, so when the fire department comes and dumps water on the fire, that water is going to find its way inside the safe and turn whatever is left into a soggy, charred mess. And they can be pried open with a screw driver or simply dropped open as has been stated in other reviews. Believe me, I know of these things from personal experience. Please spend the extra money and go to a professional safe dealer who has many models to choose from. They will get you a real safe that can be placed in your home in a location where it will be exposed to the least amount of effect from a fire and the water sprayed onto the home. They will also have the correct locking mechanisms that will be pry-proof and drill-proof. Spend a little more and you get something a thousand times better.
