I purchased 2 of these converters for a recent trip to South Africa.
They are not capable of use for electronics (notebooks, iPod, Kindle,
camera batteries), so I didn't bother to take them with me. I found
another power converter after more research on the internet- whick was
terrific. I also found one at Kmart, by sheer accident- but I didn't need
to use that converter. My notebook requires a grounded outlet (3 prong), and
the Kmart converter only had a 2 prong outlet- but the other converter I found
on the internet had a 3 prong....so I used it everywhere. However, every airport
security check needed to take it out and examine it.

Operate 120V North American power small electronics, motorized appliance rated up to 50 watts e.g. Answering Machine, Radio Tape Recorders, AC adapters/chargers of Cameras, iPod, etc. And heating-type appliance rated up to 1875 watts e.g. Curlers, Hair Dryers, Travel Irons, Heating Pads, Steamers, Food/Bottle Warmers etc. Used in countries having 220/240V AC Power. NOTE: We recommend to use a Voltage Converter / Transformer that's max watts is at least 50% higher than your appliance. DO NOT USE other electronics or items with electronic chips and circuits on 1875 watt setting. 1875 watt setting is for purely resistive items (items with heating elements only).
