Customer Review: Great Backpack Organizer for Kids!

I actually think these cubes would be quite large for shoes, but I prefer to squash shoes into the smallest space possible in order to maximize storage (I have used wine boxes). If that's not your style, you might not find these cubes large. I now have multiple children in school, and trying to organize backpacks, school papers, and books has become necessary to my sanity. The overall dimensions of this unit fit along the wall in my small entryway. Also, by removing some of the horizontal dividers (very easy to do), I calculated that a backpack would fit nicely in the space advertised for "boots." This has worked out very well so far. The unit was easy to assemble and required no tools. I placed the bottom horizontal dividers and then left out the second row. Thus, kids put their backpacks on the bottom. The shelf above holds school papers for the related child until they need to be returned or we file them or discard them. On the top, we place each child's library books, and this helps avoid piles of books all over our living room. Consider this alternative use if you have a need - we love it!
