...especially for the price. I'm with the majority here. I think it's every bit as good as my previous Jet, and even better as it handles 15" material with ease, and with the extension bed (a must-have item, IMO) stretches it out to an unbelievable 38 inches.
I checked out the welds on my tool rest, etc., and can find no evidence of breaking or cracking. The belt is snug and very smooth (previous reviewer:did you loosen the belt tension lock knob and snug up the belt?). It's quiet and does an excellent job for me.
Price and free shipping! I recommend this W1752 to anyone who need a mini-lathe.

My lathe works fine although sometimes when I drill a hole in a pen blank it tends to woller out slightly.
The main problem is ordeing spare parts. First I went to the Shop Fox supplier and they gave me three phone numbers. The best anyone could do was tell me to try again in July! My lathe had a broken quill lock handle which Amazon compensated me for but I have been unable to order a new one also can't seem to be able to order a spare belt. Things being as they are I spose I should have ordered a product that is more popular like maybe a Jet. That is a shame as the Shop Fox lathe does a pretty good job.

I bought this Lathe to make Custom Game calls. It works great for that and other light turning jobs. Very well made and sturdy. Belt changing for speeds is fast and easy. Was shipped faster than I thought and received in very good condition. No Problems at all! I would recommend this purchase from Amazon to anyone looking for a great small Wood lathe. I purchased this lathe for my son who wants to make pens etc. Checked around as usual and Amazon had the best price and free shipping. The lathe arrived in the expected time and was easy to unpack and set up. There was one small handle broken and the company selling the lathe replaced it with no problem. This lathe is well built and solid. It does a very nice job and my son loves working with it. Looked at most of what is on the market , grizzly, jet , psi, and many more , and for the money, $299.99 shipped to my door and arrived on a Saturday too , you cant beat it ... Packaging was great , in-cased in foam ...... Easy to set up , in 5 minutes i was turning .... vary smooth running , and quite ..... I have a large grizzly and wanted a small bench top model and the Shop Fox is just every thing i wanted !!!!!
