This sensor worked as it is supposed to. If water touches the sensor portion (at the end of the wire), the sensor is triggered and either the alarm sounds or you could set it up to only have the dialer triggered.
My only complaint is that the sensor on the end of the wire is different than the picture shown on the amazon page. The sensor that actually arrived is a better design in my opinion.
I attached the wireless portion (with the light and button) higher up on the wall, and attached the sensor at the base of the wall with the two sensor leads touching the floor. When water was poured on the floor and contacted the two leads, the sensor was tripped.
