I read a good review of this humidifier. I thought I would be getting a better product than the standard store selections. The sound of gurgling water is unbearable! We had it going all night and in the morning there was no mist coming out at all. I'll take any cheap humidifier that is quiet and works. I don't care about this unit killing germs. We own two of these humidifiers and they have both worked great. They have been in our kids rooms for over a year and other than replacing the UV bulb and filters, they've given us no problem. I actually decided to get a different humidifier for myself because this one was too quiet and I wanted some background noise. I am very happy with my Slant/Fin warm mist humidifier (I got the 210 model). It met all my expectations and works very well. I have seen some criticisms that it is noisy. It is not absolutely silent of course, but it is very quiet compared with other similar products. I find it works very well and was a good value. Well, it worked OK for about 2 days before it melted the water cap reservoir. Not sure how that affects operation, but not a sign of great engineering. It's not horribly noisy, but it sounds like your boiling water--loud enough that you're aware of it. I wouldn't purchase slant fin again given my experience with the gf200Customer Review: SLANT FIN IS THE ONLY BRAND I TRUST!!!

When it comes to my babies, Slant Fin's humidifier is the only model I trust becasue it is totally germ free. No other humidifier on the market has a UV light built in to kill all bacteria.
