Customer Review: Didn't work with my Imac

I really wanted to save money with all my peripherals hooked to my year old Imac.
The USB devices made the computer cycle back on after 2 seconds. Unplugging various devices would only work intermittently. There was no rhyme or reason to get the strip to work as advertised. I sent it back. I also purchased a Kill A Watt energy monitor. (That works great) In sleep mode the Imac and peripherals draw about 25 watts. (110 when running)
Now I wish I could get my cable box to shut down-it draws about 40 watts all the time.

I purchased this to cut back on "always on" electronics that were running up my electric bill. The best feature is that you have an "always on" option while other items are cut off, all on the same strip. I can leave my DVR on to record while everything else is off and not sucking electricity. I also have one on my computer station, which allows the router to be on, but everything else shuts down. I was able to save over $300 last year by using these and changing to CFL light bulbs. Definitely worth the initial investment.Customer Review: Makes all my computer stuff work together.

I have all of my computer parts plugged into this strip. I am running Windows 7 off of an external enclosure connected by eSATA. I have my main CPU plugged into the control socket. When I power up the CPU, my monitor, speaker system, three external hard drives all power up at the same time without me having to flip another switch. I got it more for convenience instead of being green. I have my internet router and desk lamp plugged into the Constant Hot Outlets so the internet never goes out. The concept is great and when used on standard electronics, it seems to work well. However, I used one for my PC with two monitors and a desk light. The idea was when I turned on the computer the second monitor and light would also come on (and vice versa). However, I get this cyclying of on-and-off for second monitor and light. I have "adjusted" the strip several times but to no avail. It is really annoying. It also defeats the purpose if I plug the second monitor and lamp into the non-controlled outlets.Customer Review: 17% Savings on my Electric Bill the First Month

We purchased to use on our HD TV and Blue ray DVD player. Plugged into the wall, these were always on in a "ready mode", even though we watched TV in the evenings only. The Smart Strip shut the TV and Blue Ray all the way off during the hours they weren't in use. It was easy to begin using and after only one month, our electric bill dropped 17%. We made no other changes in our electricity use that month, wanting to see how much this Smart Strip would help. Energy conservation and money back. Good combination.
