The smart strip is great. I use it for my tv and every devices that connect to the tv. One bad thing is that my HDTV has a red LED light on when the tv is off. So I know it is still using electricity. I set my tv as the master plug, and when the tv goes off the other devices goes off. But my Tv is still draining energy even though the tv is off. So I need to go turn of the power switch on the smart strip. Over all this smart strip is great. Before buying you might want to make sure if you are in the same situation as me. Or you can plug in another devices to control the tv, like a lamp. If you watch tv with your lamp on, you can put your lamp as the master. I just received my BETS smart strip and plugged my DeWalt table saw into the control outlet and then plugged my huge 15 amp shop-vac into the automatically switched outlet. I fired up my table saw ripping a piece of 2x wood and the strip worked flawlessly. The shop-vac fired up immediately and stopped when I shut down the table saw. My fear was the fuse would pop with two big 15 amp power sucking machines turning on at the same time. Didn't happen. What a woodworkers dream. I was afraid to order the Craftsman Auto Switch and the I-Socket because of the mixed reviews so I took a chance on the BETS smart strip. I love the concept of this item. I really like being able to shut down all my items with the touch of one button. It makes a lot of sense. It did take some tweaking though to get the product to work properly for me. It took several days of making adjustments each time we turned our computer on and off before it worked properly. You just have to keep adjusting the little wheel until it works. I read some reviews where people said it just did not work, I think they may not have given it enough time. After I got it right (within a few days), I had to adjust it one more time. Now it has worked fine for a month or two.Customer Review: Awesome Power Saver

Great product, I recommend this for every home theater, computer desk, and other places where accessories stay powered up when not being used. We put the TV on the control outlet, and the rest of the stuff on the switched outlets, so when the TV is turned off it turns everything off, and when the TV is turned on everything is automatically turned on. my Amplifier alone was drawing 20 watts when sitting idle, 20*365days*24 hours is like 175 kilowatt hours, in other words aprox 40 dollars in electric bill that we will save this year. from that device alone this power strip is well paid for.Customer Review: Smart Strip LCG4 Energy Saving Power Strip

does exactly what it purports to do; make it easy for you to save phantom power by cutting all power to those items you wish to use only when you turn on the primarily appliance, for example, a computer and a dependent scanner, printer or other peripherals while still providing power to things that do not use phantom power like a desk lamp. Based on power usage of items I have plugged in and readings from my Kill A Watt unit, it paid for itself in about 3 months so I ordered 2 more, one more for my office and one for the Home Entertainment Center in the Great Room.
