I use this for a baby monitor that I like to keep on top of the refrigerator. Rather than leave it on when not needed I can use the remote and switch it off without having to climb on a stool to get to it! It is also great for a radio I regularly use but that when "off" it has all kinds of lights and a clock that I don't need. This way, off means OFF! I just put a piece of black tape over the clock so I don't see the blinking 12:00 when I do turn it on!Customer Review: OK

Terrific idea, but execution is a little unreliable. I have this hooked up to one of my home entertainment systems. It sometimes takes awhile for it to cut power to the other receptacles, or never does cut the power. Adjusting the sensitivity is supposed to solve this problem, but it doesn't work reliably. In addition to this model, I have a different one (with less outlets) that works reliably on a different home entertainment setup.Customer Review: Works great

I use Smart Strip for home entertainment and was not able to get a clear answer that it would work for that application. I set it up with an amplifier (~50W) as control circuit. When the amp turns off, everything goes with it. Cable box is always on, only because it seems to lose TV guide when disconnected. Only 30W. Unit works as I had hoped. Haven't had to test the surge protection yet!Customer Review: Go Green!

I purchased this device for the basement home theater. As with many devices today, many even though they are "off" are really in standby. I wanted a power strip that would turn those devices off. I installed the strip with the TV as the "switch" for the other devices. It worked the first time and does a tremendous job of shutting down all the devices. This Smart Strip works like it promises. Everything you plug into it besides the main control switch area in blue and red will go off once the main blue switch turns off. I have one plugged into my television and one for my main computer. I like knowing that I am not running the other devices when the main switch is shut off. And the price was right.
