I am using this product for my entertainment center which includes an HDTV, Tivo, network router, DVD player and Xbox 360. Using the control device allows me to shut the power off to my DVD player and Xbox 360 -- saving me about 15W of energy.
It probably won't affect my electric bill much, but it does make me feel good that I'm not wasting as much electricity. Plus, it's a lot more convenient than my old power strip behind the TV.

I bought this product to save electricity in my media center. The product works as advertised. I have my TV plugged into the control outlet. I plugged my DirecTV PVR into the "always on" outlet. I have my game console, amplifier/receiver and DVD player plugged into the controlled outlets. When I turn off the TV, the game controller, Amp, and DVD player are disconnected from power. This ends the slow bleed of electricity that these devices use.Customer Review: Fantastic Product for energy and/or cost conscious consumers

These smart strips are very easy to use. I purchased one to use with our entertainment center. I have our amp plugged in as the control, the cable box on the bypass, and everything else (DVD player, TV, Wii) plugged into the auto-switched outlets, and it works great! Just turn on the amp and everything else pops on as well. Adding this to our entertainment center saved us $12 last month on our electric bill.Customer Review: Partial succes

I purchased 2 Power Strip devices. One is used with my Sony desktop computer to shut down the monitor and powered subwoofer. This works perfectly after some adjustment. The other power strip is used for my TV to shut down my DVD, VCR and Wii when not used. This does not consistently shut down or start-up the devices properly. I'm still adjusting and it either shuts down and won't restart or vice versa.Customer Review: So easy to use!

This product is great!! It is so easy to use...all I had to do was plug it in and it was ready to go. The only thing is the one that the TV, surround sound,& DVD player is plug into, when I turn the TV on,the satellite system takes awhile to restart, and I have to manually turn on the surround sound and DVD system. Its a small price to pay to save energy!Overall, I would highly recommend this product!! :)
