When i looked at the price of this knife i thought it would be rather cheaply built, wouldnt retain sharpness, and just wouldnt be as good as the reviews said. thing was i needed a knife and it was the cheapest smith and wesson i could find.
I was 100% wrong this knife came extremely sharp, i have used it many times and the handle is perfectly ergonomic for my hand (i am 5'10" if that helps you).
Also the sheath is made of durable thick leather and the belt clip is fastened very well.
But As 1 review stated these types of knives are illegal to carry out of the sheath in 12 different states.
so be careful when you do buy it.

this knife is hardly "hair shaving sharp" but it does come reasonably sharp, (not enough to really slice paper though). i like it because even though its a double edged knife, its not specifically for stabbing/hurting. you can use this just like a survival/utility/all around knife and just switch to another side when the other gets dull. the only drawback is that it has a weird "skateboard tape" kind of coating, its balanced but only barley enough for throwing, the guard is a little to narrow so a hard stab might get you hand cut, and of course it doesn't come very sharp. but these are all small down sides to this beautiful knife and if need be i would trust my life to this knife, (rhyme) over the 20-sum other knives i own.Customer Review: s&w never dissapoints

To start I received this knife 3 days before expected it comes in a nice little smith&wesson box inside the package. The first time taking blade out and putting it back in are stiff but quickly go away. I am very pleased with the quality of the blade the handle is very sturdy with a rubber like coating and the blade is the first I have seen it has a black powder coated textured coating on the blade. Although its does require some sharpening it is by no means dull. The sheath has a solid open clip on the back the sheath seems to made out of a leather like material very nice. Overall especially for the price this nice is worth it and it seems very well balanced could easily be used for throwing.Customer Review: Great Boot Knife

I have had this Boot Knife for a few months now and i have been wearing it 5 days a week every week since I purchased it. I am very surprised how well the Knife has held onto my boot. It has not slipped off once and it is very comfortable. The knife it self has a very good feel in my hand and it was fairly sharp out of the box but I sharpend it a bit more when it arrived.
The only complaint I have about this knife is the snap that holds the knife in the sheath isnt the best, but since the knife fits so well in the sheath it would never come out on its own anyway. All in all I would definitely suggest this knife to a friend or family member. Thanks again for the super fast shipping amazon!

This is a quality knife and sheath. Definitely a good buy. I bought 4 other knives along with this one and it is my favorite, mostly because it was cheaper than a couple of the others but twice the quality.
I can't think of anything negative to say about it.
The sheath is made of a thick leather, and you can easily unbutton and take the blade out with one hand. The knife comes pretty darn sharp out of the box. My roommate actually pricked his finger and drew blood when he was admiring it, he's an idiot though. It feels solid and well balanced in your hand. I haven't done any rigorous testing yet but this thing feels like it can take a beating.
