If you are looking for one individual, magical, powerfully effective way to effortlessly get things in your kitchen and bathroom and garage sparklingly clean, maybe you need to find a wizard on a cartoon channel. I believe that the persons who have rated the Sonic Scrubbers with only one or two stars had unreal expectations. The Sonic Scrubbers are excellent for difficult to get into places, for jobs where you need concentrated scrubbing that would be difficult to impossible to do using regular scrubbing equipment. For the purposes intended, they are perfect and well worth the money. Do use quality alkaline (etc) batteries. They run for an incredible number of uses before the batteries need to be replaced!
I bought my first SS from a half-off basket in a grocery store after Christmas. I had never seen it advertised, but I figured it was cheap enough to give it a try. There were also packages of extra brush heads, and I purchased 2 (identical ones) of those. The unit I bought had an Off-White body. I was really, really surprised at how well it worked. The head does not just spin like a toothbrush or a scrubbing head on a Dremel tool or power drill. It vibrates to - hard to describe, but easy to see in suds when you are using it. Probably 3 years later I saw a Yellow colored SS on sale at a local "drugstore". It was packaged for "Automotive" uses. When I used it, it sounded different (and louder) and vibrated more. I thought it was defective, but was informed by the manufacturer that the "Automotive" version was more powerful (although it was, at least then, sold for the same price). I liked it even better, but the actual difference was rather small.
Since that time I have given SS's and accessories as gifts. Although the brush heads for "home" use are all "Off-White", if I am only giving one SS unit I try to get the yellow one, and then I not only buy the yellow accessory brush heads for it, I also buy off-white sets of heads too. (If you buy various sets of accessory heads, you will get some duplications.)
Later on the Manufacturer added a large and small head scrubber head to the list accessories. These have 1/2 of a "Velcro" (type set of hook and loop) material on them and come with some pads that are very much like 3M's green scrubbing pads. (The pads come in 3 "degrees of scratchiness). The pads are mounted to a layer of padding, which is mounted to the other 1/2 of the hook and loop closure material. The padding helps the pads deform to match the shape they are being used on or in, much as your fingers form fit to what you are cleaning when you use a 3M scrubbing pad.
I made myself a little storage stand with a place for all the brushes, etc. I use this unit most often in the laundry room or in the kitchen. For convenience, depending on what I am planning to do, I will load each unit up with a head that I anticipate using, but I also make sure that I have all the heads handy, and also have a few replacement "pads" in case I need to start using a new pad.
