Customer Review: Not sticky enough

These were needed when I ran out of my old moth trap supply and the annual birdseed season brought the moths back. They looked great as I assembled them and they started attracting the moths right away.
Unfortunately the moths are not sticking to the interior section. They wander in and then right out. (Yes, I did pull the paper off).
The last ones I had looked the same but the sticky part was applied from a separate piece of paper with a protective cover on each side - much more work assembling correctly but worked at least 100 times better. Those traps are full of moths - disgusting - yes - but better than flying around the pantry.
I have had 4 of these out for 5 days and have caught a total of about 10 moths. The others would each catch 50 moths overnight the first night they were out.
I am off to hunt for a better product.

My moths came from birdseed I kept in the house; I think they're the right kind of moths for this trap. I bought four traps nearly a month ago. At night I leave off every light in the house except one; I put the traps around the light; they come to the light but ignore the traps. I've put the traps at all ends of my house: same result; the traps stay empty. I've put birdseed in and under one of the traps, and that doesn't work either. The one moth that has been caught is one I found on the ceiling; I shoved the trap up at the moth and the moth went inside and got stuck. When I bought the traps, I wasn't expecting to have to use them manually. The bait in the traps smells suspiciously like plastic. I don't think my moths are attracted to the plastic.

I had these all over the house and they couldn't keep up with our moth outbreak. Some filled up with moths, so I know they are working, but others only trapped a few moths, and I don't know if it was because of their location, or because the bait wasn't as strong. Since they only attract the male moths, I don't know if the ones that were flying right past these and not going in were females, or not being attracted. Also, I wish they stayed sticky a little longer, because before the hatching cycle had completely ended, the moths weren't sticking inside the traps, and I had to put out a few more. I know this because I picked up the traps and "caught" moths inside by hand, only to watch them crawl out and fly away.Customer Review: Great Product

This is the first review I have written on amazon. This worked that well. These really do work wonders! We recently switched our parrot to a all natural bulk food from the local exotic bird store and we are swarmed with moths. After a week and a half of having a few out, the 3-4 dozen moths were gone, now we just keep one out and it keeps the few we get under control. There is no question that they are safe and easy to use. They are not ugly nor pretty but work well. That is my only complaint, that they could also make a version that was more decorative for a room. But I solved that problem by placing it in a stealth position, they moths still came to the attractant.Customer Review: Moth Be Gone!

These work like a charm. We have a cockatoo, so a lot of bird food makes its way through our house. Over the last year, we've had a growing moth problem and tried several option without success. Then, we discovered these little beauties. Literally within 15 minutes of deploying the first trap, about 25 moths had gotten caught! We use two traps in the basement, and have filled them twice. We're on our third pair and there are only 2-3 moths seen daily.
Highly recommended!
