Tools and Hardware Reviews of Starrett 505A-12 ProSite 12-Inch Dial Protractor

Customer Review: not so accurate
Summary: 3 Stars

I need absolute accuracy in my metalwork. I have found Starrett to be wanting on the last two tools I have purchased. My digital tape measure is off by 1/16 and this nifty protractor is about 1/2 degree off. I believe both are a direct result of outsourcing jobs. Neither of these tools appear to have been made in Mass.

Customer Review: Fantastic!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is great. Simple, durable construction, easy to use. I've used it to measure all of my walls, and lo and behold they are all perfect 45's. It took all of the guess work out of my mitre cuts so they are all perfect.

This should be a standard tool in any home owners tool box.

Customer Review: Takes The Guesswork Out Of Angles
Summary: 5 Stars

Great tool for measuring inside and outside miter angles. Angle measurements show both actual angle and the miter saw setting (angles divided in half). Terrific for out of square corners or odd angles you might encounter when installing trim or molding. Takes the guesswork out of miter saw settings.

Customer Review: Six stars!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this as soon as it came out, last fall. It is wonderful. I use it often, in the shop and on the road. It is unmarked, undamaged. It can be hard to read the dial, but I am getting older. It holds an angle as you carry it around without a care. Treat it with care, own it for life.

Customer Review: hard to read
Summary: 3 Stars

This Item should come with a magnifing glass. This gauge is microscopic. Also, it is hard to use in trimming those common short wall outside corners becuse of the length of it. One side should be able to slide like a common bevel square. Obviosly, the engineer never used it to trim a house.
