If you want something you can throw around a lot, then get a rubbermaid, they almost never break. But unless you can find them on sale, they are almost always more expensive. Sterilite is clear so you do not always have to unstack them to see what you have in the box. Also if they are sitting on the shelf they do not deteriorate over time. They hold up well over the years. I use both rubbermaid and sterilite and they both have their place to eliminate clutter and keep the house organized and clean. Of course my wife would be more happy if I just got rid of it, rather then to store it. But at least it is all in storage out of the way. I see those hoarders programs on TV and think WOW, if they would put that junk in a container and stack them up, then at least it would be neat, clean, dry, keep the bugs out and they could have some pathways to get around. Esp in a basement where water can be a real problem. So often stuff in storage gets wet, starts to mold and it ends up ruined and you have to throw it away. This is a way to solve all of that. Although getting rid of stuff is a good ideal also.
