Tools and Hardware Reviews of Sterilite 29308001 3-Drawer Wide Cart with See-Through Drawers and Black Casters, WhiteCustomer Review: Great For Fabric, Light-Weight Paper Supplies/Records Summary: 4 Stars
I am reviewing the Sterilite (29308001) three-drawer WIDE cart on casters.
I bought two of these. My husband put the casters on in minutes, no complaints, so that was an easy task. They come assembled, otherwise, which was great.
If you use these as common sense--and for some of us, what experience suggests---you won't be sorry if you purchase a cart (or like I did, two).
I store 100% cotton fabric yards in the top--three designs (left to right) in all, and if you apply the same general principle of weight distribution--the higher you go, the lighter you stow--you can store office, craft, art supplies in these drawers. Just don't treat these--stationary or moving across the room--as though they're made of solid wood instead of plastic, and you'll be happy with them.
One of the best aspects of these see-through drawers is just that--you can see what's inside without opening them, so you don't wear them out faster, and agitate yourself, by continually opening, peering inside, and closing them, only to move on to the next one down, and so on. You can usually tell what you have in them if you store only a few items per drawer like I do: fabric by the yard, three across, per drawer.
Add some laser labels above each drawer pull-indentation, in large BOLD fonts for the harder to remember or locate smaller items like sewing machine needles/sizes, paper clips, Krazy glue, what-have-you, and these wide-drawer carts make great storage units.
I have one on each side--and partially under--two end-to-end 24x48-inch foldable tables. so the carts take up less space but are still handy for my sewing projects. Do the same if you use a table (or end-to-end tables) for a writing or craft project top, and you'll have everything at hand, too.
These don't move well on carpeting--most casters don't--but I only "roll" the one I have downstairs on tile that I use for baking supplies, so this isn't a problem for me. If you don't overload them with weight and either don't have back problems--or get someone to move them for you who doesn't--then rearranging these temporarily or permanently won't be a problem either. (I do have back problems so I get my husband to move them and as I only keep 100% fabric in mine--and don't ask for help when any kind of sporting event is on TV--he is glad to help.)

Customer Review: Just About Perfect... Summary: 5 Stars
I use this to store clothing in (and my roommate has one too, also with clothing inside). We both have all 3 drawers filled with t-shirts, other shirts, jeans etc. This stuff is thick and totally fills up the drawers, as well as puts lots of weight in them. I have my set up on an old wooden desk, and it does not move around at all, and even takes my cats jumping on it with no evidence of them having done so. In my roommate's room, he has the drawers sitting on the floor in front of a window (in between 2 taller wooden dressers) and the cats (we have 4 young adults about 10-15 lbs each) all jump on the set of drawers as well on the top of the dressers, and like to sleep on the LARGE pile of extra blankets that are sitting ontop of the drawers. This set shows no dramatic bending of the plastic top, though it does obviously get it to bend slightly under all that weight and stress. Top drawer can still be easily opened even with this slight "damage" to it.
I must say that I actually LOVE these drawers as they are just the perfect width for use with larger items (like clothing) and not just craft items or other small things, and the height of each drawer as well as the depth seem great as well. The only thing I could think of to ask for, would be to have them in different colors (like black) and maybe have the drawer plastic be a little bit more opague... I guess the frame plastic could be a bit thicker, but the 2 sets of drawers that we have in this apartment seem to be holding up pretty good with what we have so far tested them with.
Customer Review: Top drawer Summary: 5 Stars
First off, it came to my door fully assembled (minus the easily added wheel units) which is always a treat, especially with a product this large. A big plus in my book.
The drawers open and close like any other kind of drawer set you could own. The top drawer of the unit has a little plastic ridge in the back that clicks into place as you close it, to make sure the contents stay locked in tightly. I didn't really want or need this feature, but some of you might like it. The other two drawers open and close without a hitch, and they are all more than wide enough to house the average blanket or coat or whatever or small child or you have in mind.
Overall construction is solid and sturdy, more than what I was expecting for "a plastic chest of drawers."
All in all, an excellent purchase for a good price.
Customer Review: weak plastic cannot hold heavy items, should be around $18 Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this exactly product at Walmart for $18 (regular, not a roll back price). I can see why Amazon sells for double the price because you are actually paying for packaging and shipping. Sterilite made this drawers with different width. The ones that is not too wide as this works a little better. I only use this one to store baby clothes, towels next to the changing table because I can see it at the store the plastic will not hold anything heavy. The sliding drawers are not smooth after you put stuff in it. When it is totally empty they slide fine. I put a radio digital clock on top of the drawers and over time the top started to bend so the top drawer cannot close all the way. I am getting this for short term use so this work for me for couple of years.
Customer Review: BUY 2 AND STACK THEM! Summary: 5 Stars
For people who always lose things and can't remember where/what drawer stuff is in - this is great. Not furniture, not 'attractive' ... But can see through (not totally clear, a bit opaque, and you can easily find/remember where you put things (clothes, tool, 'stuff').
I did not know for sure, but after buying 2, I found you can easily stack them into one good sized unit. You have to remove the top plastic layer of one unit and the second one will snap snugly on top to create one seamless unit.
The wheels are optional, and I am not sure how stable these would be stacked and on wheels. But on flat carpet, it's stable and sturdy when stacked (if you remove the top of one, and stack (by snapping into place) the other on-top)
