Customer Review: Great unit in 5 shelf configuration

I have been debating whether to get this or the 5 shelf unit. I ended up buying the 4 shelf unit and using it as a five shelf unit.
I have seen the 5 shelf unit in person and here is how I feel.
The 5 shelf unit is bigger / deeper however I liked the 4 shelf unit better because of the smaller foot print.
The 5 shelf unit is more stable because of the larger foot print. The 4 shelf unit is fairly stable whether it is used as a 4 or a 5 shelf. I am thinking that if you have REALLY heavy items, then the 5 shelf unit is for you. Otherwise the 4 shelf unit would do just fine.
The 5 shelf unit has holes in the shelves which I don't like because I may lay small items such as screws that may fall through them.
If you decide to use the 4 shelf unit as a five shelf unit, it will end up being more expensive and you will have waste. Each one 4 shelf unit will be enough to add an extra shelf to 3 other 4 shelf units. You will end up with an extra shelf that can't be used for anything.
There is a chance you will get cracked shelves. I have 9x 5 shelves ( which I used 12x4 (i.e. 48 shelves with 3 extra ) to make and I had 3 shelves that were cracked. This in my opinion is a good enough ratio).
As most reviews have mentioned the unit was a breeze to put in. no tools required. Great value for the money.
One thing to add: These are actually fairly easy to disassemble. Here is how: Get a 1-2 foot long piece of wood (2x4) then push it against the bottom edges and use a hammer. They will come apart in seconds. Good luck.
