I ordered the Aquasana Pure Shower about three months ago because I have eczema...dry skin that shows up in various places including my scalp. At the moment we don't have softened water where we live and I was hoping that this filter would improve the water quality. I think it did...a little, but not enough to really make a difference to my skin.
For those looking for something to help purify their shower water the Aquasana may help but our water is pretty good where we currently live.
All-in-all I can't really say the Aquasana made much of a difference for me. However for those that have minor skin problems or borderline water quality it may be a good investment.

I recently moved to an older rental. It even has an old fashioned fuse box. The water pressure here is horrible. I thought I'd have to join a health club to get a decent shower... but this little showerhead is somehow able to turn the weak water pressure into a wonderful skin smacking shower! I mean, the water really blasts (I also took out the water saver device, but that did not help when I did that with other showerheads).
As for the filtration... it is excellent. I have been using this product with good results, but only recently with their showerhead.
I used to have red and itchy skin on my back and stomach.. but not since I started using this product.

Before using the shower filter I was trying all kinds of shampoos and hair conditioners to take care of my hair texture, itching, dryness etc. Then my friend (he too uses Aquasana) suggested using a shower filter in the first place.
I am glad I agreed to his suggestion. It has been over 2 months since installed. I realised that more than the shampoo the water plays very important role for your hair.
Over the past 2 months I have seen a marked difference in the quality of my hair. All thanks to Aquasana. Fitting it was as easy as 1-2-3. Considering the amount of $$$ spent over a range of shampoos, conditioners, not to mention the mental stress...this has been a worthy buy.

My shower filter arrived in the original packaging, installed in less than 10 minutes and works just fine. The water feels softer, and my wife thinks it has improved the condition of our hair and skin (men, you know we can't tell the freaking difference!).
I was concerned with water temperature, since I read somewhere else that the maximum temperature allowed would be the low 90s - not hot enough. But after contacting Aquasana I was informed that the maximum temperature is 125F (more than enough); and the filter does come with a sticker stating an average of 115F.
We think it works so well that we are ordering a second one for the second bathroom.

We purchased this product for our very hard water showers (we live in San Diego). My hair dresser noticed my hair becoming more and more brittle and mentioned this product to help with that and make our skin softer. We've been using it for about 1 month and haven't noticed much change. We do like the shower head though- better than our old one so I'm glad I got it- it's just not the amazing/revolutionary product that some reviews suggest.
I do like the idea that there is less chlorine in our shower water- I just can't tell much of a difference in my hair/skin.
No problems so far with exploding/breaking filters like other reviewers have noted.
