We've owned our Aquasana WHWF since April 2006. It has worked like a dream. I really do not have any complaints about the product. Only now it is time for us to replace the entire unit. April 2010 will mark 4 years of owning our unit, so we are almost a year overdue. Tonight we replaced the cylinder filter for the umpteenth time and now we are having issues with the water color. This is so frustrating because all we did was change out the filter and now our water is black. I guess this will finally light a fire to our tails in making us replace the tank.Customer Review: Removes Chlorine Well

I used this product for approximately 2 years and can confirm that it works. Replacement filters are a bit pricey in my opinion but if you are hypersensitive to chlorine in the water, this filter may do the trick. The water in my area is not heavily chlorinated (less than 0.2 ppm at the tap). After six months, the water after the filter was still about half of what was coming into the filter. When the filter was new and until it was almost six months old, there was no measurable chlorine based on a DPD50 free chlorine test that I did.Customer Review: Excellent product.

Aquasana makes excellent products to counteract the negative effects of chlorine and other things in our water supply. They also have a chloramine filter available if your city's water uses chlorine and ammonia.
One caveat- you must have basic manual dexterity skills to install the filters. Aquasana is very patient and they provide good support, but you had better be prepared to have someone else install the filter if you lack basic manual dexterity.
I highly recommend their shower filters.

I am on a private water system that is managed by a member of the system. The water has a high sulphur smell/taste (bacteria related not a concern of Health Monitoring Org)and clorination is not scientifically controlled. The result is that your hair feels like straw after a shower. I installed the filter (10 minutes total time - including the unboxing and reading instructions). After my first shower my hair was soft did not feel dry and damaged. I can't believe I waited so long. This product is the BOMB! Buy it!

It does sound like the people that had technical problems didn't slow down and follow the directions. I moved a few exits down the highway and found my new water supply to be very hard. Sticky, brown scum that I had to scrub off at least weekly. This product saves me from all that; I've now gone 3 months without seeing any of this scum. Also, I hadn't used a versatile head like this before which provided a nice rhythm on my stiff neck. I was skeptical with the price initially, now I'm signing up for regular replacements.
