Perfecto Ironing Board Cover #8209: I purchased this cover Jan. 7, 2009.
A new steam iron was used. Before completion of ironing one set of sheets the sides of the cover were wet, the cover stained and the wetness continued seeping onto the top portion of the cover from all sides. Upon removing the cover from the ironing board, the top of the board was totally wet and the plastic on the reverse side of the ironing board cover was covered with water. Plastic on the reverse side, when used with steam irons, obviously create an extreme moisture problem.
In addition to the inadequacy of the cover itself, the design is terrible. My wife is a quilter, interior designer, make quilts, window treatments and clothing. The distorted checks on the cover are very disturbing, especially when tiny quilting pieces are being pressed and exact straight edges must be maintained. For a person with migraine headaches, which my wife has, this distortion can trigger headaches. Solid colors are always better for these covers.
ALL IN ALL, THIS IS A HORRIBLE PRODUCE. The inexpensive ones purchased at a local discount store work better. The items being ironed can be ruined before one realizes what is happening with this cover. (As was done with expensive European Cotton sheets in our case).
