This is my second Suncast hose box. The first one only lasted 9 years. To compliment my new hose box I also purchased the Gilmour 20-58100 20, 100 foot hose. These two items are shown on each others pages under "people who bought this also bought this". Only problem is the faucet fitting on the hose is too large to fit through the guide hole on the Suncast. Only way to get them together is to put the nozzle end of the hose through the guide hole and pull,or push, the 100 feet of hose through the guide hole. Neither Suncast's or Gilmour's fault. Gilmour might consider a smaller fitting on the faucet end of their hose. Otherwise, I like the little hose house.Customer Review: Works well and looks good outside the house

I needed a way to store my garden hose without creating an eye sore. This unit looks nice outside of the house and preforms well. Again, you have to compare the cost to the quality.
Once you relieve the water pressure, the hose can be rewound by anyone. A gear setup in the unit causes the hose to rewind evenly across the spindle.
This didn't get a four star rating because the hose that connects to your outside faucet has already cracked and kinked on a unit that is only eight weeks old. Not a big deal and it can be easily repaired, but the manufacturer should have used a kink proof hose.

We purchased this hose box online after having seen them at a local hardware store. My wife really liked the ones we looked at and I told her to let me check online cause we could get it cheaper than at the store. And as it turned out we found the exact one she wanted and we not only didn't have to pay taxes but got free shipping to boot. So as it turned out we saved about 4 dollars taxes. She really loves it and now her flowers don't want for water anymore. The only downside is that I had to drill a hole in the bottom to stake it down, otherwise it liked to follow the hose around.Customer Review: Works well, until the fitting on the reel splits.

As with all of these plastic reels, the fitting that is on the reel that the primary hose feeds into splits and sprays water out constantly unless the valve is shut off.
The reel pulls in the hose very evenly and effectively. Its also pretty easy.
The other problem is that unless you fasten it to something or put heavy rocks on top, it will likely just fall over when you're pulling your hose out.
This would be a 10 if the parts that mattered were metal and didn't break, and if it didn't fall over when you pulled your hose.

The Suncast Hose Hideaway w/Smart Trak Hose Guide is an Excellent Product & Great Value It is so much better than a hose reel which we had used previously. It is very easy to use and saves a lot of time and aggravation with rolling up the hose. We have used this for the last 2 years and it is still holding up well. It has not cracked or split It keeps the hose organized and neat and looks really nice too. The only issue we have is that the lid could have been a little heavier. On a really windy day the lid does blow open.
