When I was looking for a garden hose rewinder . I Researched first the auto winder the reviews were not encouraging. I saw the suncast and thought I would try it. It was great buy. I researched many hose reels and read many reviews before purchasing this one, and I am so glad I took a chance on it. It came right away and was easy to set up, although the directions were not that clear regarding the hose guide. As long as you set up the hose guide correctly, you should have no trouble winding and unwinding. It moves the hose from one side to the other for even distribution.Customer Review: Good idea but bad product

This hose reel rolls up the garden reel nice but as soon as I shut the water off at the nozzel which pressurizes the hose the main connection on the hose reel pops out and just sprays water over the side of the house. I called Suncast customer support and got voice mail that said it was no longer accepting mesages the mailbox was full. I have owned 3 Suncast hose reels. All of them have failed within 3 years. The problem is a design defect of the rotary coupling. The coupling is made from cheap plastic that is a pressure fit, not a mechanical attachment of any kind. Eventually the rotary coupling fails, spraying water in all directions. I have not been able to find replacement parts.Customer Review: Not Perfect but Worth the Price

Read the low ratings...but purchased anyway. The unit works well, looks nice, and leaks. The reason for leak is the yellow washer on the exterior of the unit did not seat properly during mfg. assembly. Solution: replace the cheap yellow washer with a better one. Should have purchased this long time ago.
