I thought this little dehumidifier looked like a cool gadget when I bought it, and even when I got it. Unfortunately, it barely collected any water, and then after a day or two, the fan stopped running, and I couldn't get it to reset by unplugging it or anything.
I think this company has a problem with quality control. I have a feeling that the fan motor just burned out. I like the idea of using a Peltier junction instead of a compressor motor, but they removed any advantage of using this technology by making the fan really loud.
If they would design a machine like this with a quiet fan motor then it would be worth having. Otherwise I would stay away from buying this. You might have to send it back like I did. This was the first product that I have ever sent back to Amazon, and I have bought a lot of stuff here over the years.
The return process was painless though. I had more trouble packing it than anything else. The box had both this unit and my Omron scale, and the return needed a lot more packing material. I used a bunch of shredded credit card checks, that the stupid banks keep sending me, even when I never use them. Amazon must get a lot of shredded paper that they have to dispose of or recycle from all the returns.
