I've seen many plastic speed suqares that are broken in one way or another, but this one is indestructable. I've dropped it off of second floor roofs onto concrete and it is still fine. I agree that the book is confusing for a DIY user, but the tool is great for framing, I always have it in my belt.Customer Review: Definition of a square.

In response to the erroneous definition by R. Harper. A square is a device used to construct a right triangle. (woodworker's). Therefore, a square has nothing to do with its shape. The Swanson Tool is one of the most used tools in any construction project, including my shop.

I am not a contractor, just a normal home owner that does his own woodworking. This tool is great to have at home when working on projects around the house.
All markings are very easy to read.
I'm glad I picked up this tool. For the money, it is a very valuable tool.

My favorite thing about this square is that it has the most defined markings of any square I've used. The square has an overall feeling of "quality" to it. It also comes with a pretty complex user manual.

I'll keep it short and to the point. This Speed Square arrived quick and better than I expected. I use it mainly for a guide for my circular saw. The tool is heavy so if feels like a tool that will last unlike the plastic ones that are filling up the shelves at Lowes. Overall good tool.
