Tools and Hardware Reviews of TEKTON 7333 Battery, Bulb and Fuse Tester

Customer Review: Meters are inconsistent
Summary: 3 Stars

The test under simulated load was the selling point for me on this tester.

I purchased two of these meters and the same batteries gave different readings on the two meters. While testing the same fresh batteries, one meter swings to the top of the good (green) range, the other meter needle swings almost one eighth of an inch less.

This suggests the quality control is questionable. In spite of inconsistency between meters, at least it will give a relative idea of the battery charge under load. The price is reasonable, so you can't expect too much.

Customer Review: Works Ok A Bit Disappointed
Summary: 3 Stars

This is my first review. I read reviews religiously before buying and I thought it was time I shared my experience. We tried to test a D size battery and the D battery would not fit in the tester. The bottom piece does not go down far enough so you cannot test it.

I also find it a bit difficult to hold the battery in while checking to see if it is still good. It is ok but I am disappointed I cannot check the larger size batteries

Customer Review: Waste of money
Summary: 1 Stars

6 dead AA batteries; all measured almost completely to the right in the green area indicating good. Wouldn't operate a couple of devices. Tested brand new batteries and meter showed the same but yet the brand new batteries worked in the devices as expected.

Similar disappointing results with AA and AAA rechargeable and "normal" batteries.

Didn't expect much for $15 and got what I expected :)

Customer Review: Save You Money
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased the Tekton because it advertises that it will check a battery under a load. I found that this 9 dollar unit is no better than the 2 dollar one. I have a nose hair trimmer and according to the Tekton the AA battery is good (green) but the blade barely moves. If I replace the battery with a fresh one, well it's night and day. Don't waste your money, buy the cheaper one. It does the same job.

Customer Review: Nice to have around
Summary: 5 Stars

I am finally done wondering if a product or its batteries are the reason for product failure - this thing saves me lots of time and money determining which batteries to recycle and which still have some life in them. I mostly use rechargeable batteries but even those can be tested to determine if the batteries are still good - or still holding a charge.
