Tools and Hardware Reviews of The ARC Curved Shower Bar, Stainless Steel

Customer Review: Quality Product
Summary: 5 Stars

The Arc Shower Bar is a sleek, contemporary design that is easy to install. I chose the brushed stainless steel finish which coordinates with other fixtures in our bathroom. The manufacturer supplied two different type wall anchors plus toggle bolts are included for various type of wall materials (i.e drywall, ceramic tile, etc.). One end of the rod can be cut off if needed to customize the arc desired.

I also purchased a "Hookless Shower Curtain" which is of excellent quality and moves effortlessly on the Arc Shower Bar. The curtain came with a liner that snaps in and out. I did break one of the plastic snaps trying to unhook the liner, but hopefully the company will send a replacement. I will definitely purchase these products again for a second bathroom and would recommend these products to anyone looking to update the look and functionality of their shower.

Customer Review: 30 minute installation!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just finished installing The Arc a few minutes ago. I timed the process just for fun. It took me a total of 30 minutes to take down the old shower rod, drill and install The Arc. Then add ten minutes to clean up and rehang the shower curtain. The Arc looks great and is nice and sturdy.

Advice: you do need a cheap masonry bit for your drill, no biggie. While at the hardware store, get a small tube of silicone caulk to plug the holes from the old rod.

One discovery: standard shower curtain hooks work even better and move smoother on The Arc than on rod-style hangers! You don't need the fancy shower curtains.

Update: been using it for over three years now. Still great!

Customer Review: ARC SS
Summary: 5 Stars

If you want two shower curtains one inside and one outside it is possible to install 2 of these bars - one set of brackets a little bit above the other - or side by side (I did it both ways). One bar can be cut (hacksaw) a little shorter to provide a different arc (assuming your tub size is less than 60 inches). I installed one pair for a 58 inch tub in my home and another pair in a mobilehome with a 54 inch tub. If you do this, make several small cuts and see what works. You don't want to cut off too much so there's no arc, but just enough difference to allow the curtains hooks to pass each other. This Company also provides various types of connectors which should cover most installation needs.

Customer Review: You need to DRILL into your wall (or tile) to install this!
Summary: 1 Stars

The product arrives without any good directions and unfortunately requires that you drill into your bathroom/shower walls to install it. We have a tiled shower, and I don't want to drill holes in the tile to install an a shower "arc". Our previous Wal-Mart grade shower bar has rubber ends and adjusts to securely fit in our shower. I wish Amazon would have provided a better warning as to the nature of the installation before advertising this product so aggressively. I guess this falls into the "seemed like a good idea at the time" category. If they could have developed an adhesive based alternative to securing the bar ends, then maybe I could have given it a bona fide try. Too bad.

Customer Review: ARC Curved Shower Bar is worth it
Summary: 5 Stars

First saw this towel bar in a Marriott Hotel. Bought it because it looked sleek and easy to put up. You can saw one end of it to make it less protruding, i.e., it protrudes 8 inches out, which for me was too far. Each half inch cut reduces the protrusion by 1 inch, so I cut the end by one inch which reduced the protrusion to 6 inches and it was perfect. Takes a few minutes to cut it, you need to use a hacksaw with tiny teeth. Instructions tell you how.

Heard other curved shower bars like Moen, etc., tend to rust over time. This one is made of aircraft grade aluminum, so won't rust. Lots of extra room in my shower now.
