Very good price on these. I got this set (of 8) for my daughter's apartment. Certainly loud enough, and easy install. 5 of them worked fine; 3 of the battery sets were spent or faulty (not sure which, yet). I'm thinking they were on the shelf in China for a very long time. Replacement batteries are costly at Amazon or Walgreen's. Shop around, google for "Simply Batteries, Inc. (which is a very good place for hearing aid batteries also). Any experienced thief could turn these off in a hurry or course, but they are certainly loud enough to wake you up, and maybe your neighbor also. I think you mount these where the thief CAN see them so he'll go elsewhere. If possible, mount it so the thief cannot easily see whether you have armed it.
