Tools and Hardware Reviews of Teamstrap Moving and Lifting Straps

Customer Review: Fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this thing. My boyfriend & I were able to move a washer & dryer down some steps, thru two very narrow doors (just 1/2" wider than the W/D's) and thru a tight right turn in between without the usual copius cursing & scraping of knuckles involved in that kind of thing.
We also moved a fridge through two rooms & into place in the kitchen without scraping our newly finsihed floors. Instead of struggling to find a handhold on a heavy smooth-sided giant cube, you just lift with your legs & steady the thing with your hands - so much easier.
It does take some adjustment for steps - and moving a large object like a fridge up or down steps would probably be a little scary - but no more so than trying to do it without the teamstrap. I do wish it had additional slots towards the center of the main strap so you could pick up smaller objects. We tried to lift a window air conditioner and the straps only adjust close enough to lift it a couple inches off the floor but it was too far away to touch so we couldn't steady it with our hands. We probably could have knotted the main stap a couple of time to take up some length & make it work but didn't think of that at the time..
If you have heavy large things to haul around, I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: TeamStrap Works
Summary: 5 Stars

I was skeptical about this strap setup and read all the reviews covering its use. I bought one in time for a move and I must say that I am tickled that I purchased it to really give it a shake-down.

It was such a pleasure to use on furniture like bookcases, desks, china hutch and small piano . These were the biggest items I had to move and it worked well with them. What it had problems with were odd shaped or smaller sized items like 30 gallon flower pots or a 50 lb cube shaped safe. There is not enough surface area for the strap to hold it in a stable manner. It was moved with the strap but you just had to hold it still and it was very awkward and unstable. Would have used it on a washer/dryer but a friend used their hand truck instead. I did not have a chance to it on that appliance- maybe next time.

I thought about buying the version that uses the forearms but I prefer the use of the criss-cross strap arrangement over the shoulders which is somewhat like suspenders. I think that is designed to handle more weight but I cannot say that for sure since I bought this one instead.

Otherwise, I am so glad I had it for our move and would buy another one on a heartbeat.

Customer Review: A must have for HEAVY items...
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this with the hope that I could use it to move my fish tank. My tank is 394 lbs. empty, and it's 6 ft. long. Our original move of it required 4 guys working in coordination, using suction cups, and it wasn't easy. I bought teamstraps on blind faith, because it was worth a shot for $20, given that it's weight rating was up to 650lbs.

This time, the move was even easier, and it was only myself and one friend! Putting on the straps was a cinch, and We were able to move the 6ft 394lb tank outside and around the house, in through the front door to its showplace.

I couldn't believe how much easier it was this time. My back was a tiny bit sore afterwards, but for two guys to be able to move such a heavy item, it was hardly any ache at all... May be one of the best $20 I've every spent. Now I still can use it for other things if needed! I highly recommend this if you're planning on moving somthing large; it will spare your back muscles from bending over to lift...

Customer Review: Well worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this set of straps during our last move, hoping they might help out a little, if not provide some 'backup' while carrying my big-screen TV. They worked out MUCH better than I anticipated.

Moving the TV was a breeze. We slid the strap underneath the TV, then into the buckles, and stood up. That was it!

What really sold me was when we moved our queen mattress. The thing is around 100lbs. and a pain to carry as there is no good way to grab it. The straps made this SOOOO much easier. The mattress was still wobbly, but we didn't have to fight and strain to carry it.

My only real complaint is that the shoulder harnesses could be labeled for which direction to put on. That's it.

One thing to note...these won't work too terribly well for going up and down stairs. Sure, for the top person it'll be fine. But for the bottom person, since you're essentially tethered to the object you're carrying, it could get in the way.

Customer Review: Team Strap moving strap
Summary: 1 Stars

more trouble than it was worth. may be ok for moving some pieces on level ground for short distances but overall very uncomfortable. save your money or purchase a good back support while lifting and use proper lifting form you will be a lot more satisfied. there is nothing like purchasing an item with such great expectactions only to have the item arrive and not work at all as it is advertised. somehow they seem to leave out the fact that instead of your back hurting you will be left with aching neck and sholulders from straps. also comes with very little instructions and hard to find any detailed instructions on exactly how to use the extension strap or the best way to wear over shoulder. i pretty much had to study a picture on the internet and see how the straps were to be worn. Oh well maybe it wil work better as a pull strap next time i get stuck up in the sand at the beach. if so i will write another review letting you know of more practical uses for this. ha ha.
