I still stand by the concept but cannot any longer recommend the product. While the Lotus did what it said it would do wonderfully, the product itself just isn't built with the workmanship I'd expect for the money.
About 5 months of owing my Lotus, I had to have it replaced - it was burning up inside. I was informed that a new unit would be shipped to me and that a UPS label would be e-mailed to me. All I had to do was put the label on the old unit and send it back. Except that by the time the replacement arrived, I could no longer access the label because UPS places a 10-day limit in which the label could be accessed.
I wrote back to Tersano and rather than being helpful, I was criticized for not taking action sooner and told that a new label would not be sent because it cost them $10.
To add insult to injury, the replacement unit that they sent was refurbished, and the date code was older than my original. I used the replacement once and got an S8 error message. Now I'm stuck with 2 rather inconvenient pieces of garbage.
I cannot say enough good things about the Lotus Sanitizing Sytem. It is an amazingly effective, safe way to keep your food safe and your house clean without chemicals.
I bought the Lotus mainly for the spray bottle and fell in love with it's cleaning abilities - along with the included microfiber cloths, the Lotus effectively cleans my kitchen, bathroom, mirrors and windows - even old stains on the carpet! My kitchen has older tile that shows it's wear but after using the Lotus for about a week, it gleams. Because the system purifies the water, it leaves no streaks or film on anything... even your shiny appliances and mirrors. Best of all, it's chemical free so there's no heavy perfumes or strong chemicals.
To test it's effectiveness on food, I tested a bunch of table grapes. Left on the counter in a bowl for nearly 2 weeks, only the grapes at the bottom of the bowl had started to brown. I treated all my veggies that week and am still amazed at how fresh they've remained. What really amazed me though was a batch of raw chicken that I treated - a couple days later when I opened the bag to cook the meat, the chicken was just as fresh as if I had bought it at the store that day.
A couple things you should know before you buy it:
- it is essential that you rinse your veggies well, I ran some asparagus through a cycle and tiny fibers from underneath the tops got sucked in and clogged the little spinner at the bottom of the bowl.
- you will still need to keep a bottle of all-purpose cleaner avaialble for emergencies. It takes 1-2 minutes to prepare a sprayer full of water, and since the water is only activated for about 15 minutes, it's impossible to keep on hand for sudden spills. Other than that, I've virtually eliminated all other household cleaners from my home.
- the directions says that you can process meat directly in the included bowl. No matter how effective this machine is at eliminating contaminents, I couldn't immageine putting raw meat in the same bowl that I treat my fruit and vegetables in. Instead, I run a cycle of water through the bowl alone, then pour it into another bowl where I soak my meat for a 2 minute cycle.
- It is a little noisy but I think the chemical-free trade off is WELL WORTH IT.

This is one of the seven wonders of our modern world.
I am using this device for cleaning almost everything around the home and office. There is no need to use cleaning chemicals (which are costly, messy and space consuming). This device prepares ordinary tap water to act as a cleaning and disinfecting agent.
The system temporarily creates water that is super-saturated with ozone (three oxygen atoms combined in one molecule). It takes some scientific background to understand, but, it is simple to use.
Here is how it works:
You fill the spray bottle with ordinary tap water. You place it on the unit and push it down onto the base of the unit. You tell the unit that it is a bottle (instead of the bowl) and turn it on. A minute or two later, the unit notifies you with an LED display that the water is ready. You can then spray the water in a fine mist on ANYTHING. It is non-toxic and non-caustic (except to germs and poisons) which can be "reduced" (Chemistry term) by the extra oxygen atom in the water.
After playing with the Labrador Retriever in a nearby river, her coat often smells from the bacteria in the river multiplying on her fur and skin. She was itching terribly. After she gets out of the water, I prepare a spray bottle of the "Lotus" water and cover her in a fine mist. There is no smell from her coat anymore after playing in the river. She has stopped itching. The super-saturated ozone water is completely safe for large living organisms like dogs and humans.
I sprayed Lotus water on the Labrador's bedding. Just a fine mist of three or four sprays. No more dog smell.
I like to keep fresh herbs and veggies at home. On getting home from the Natural Food store, I prepare a bowl of the Lotus water and immerse the herbs and vegetables in it for two minutes (the unit tells you when all of the microrganisms have succumbed to the ozone in the water). I immediately place them in a plastic bag. They keep almost indefinitely in the vegetable crisper because when I place them in the refrigerator there are no micro-organisms on them to cause browning or decay.
This process also works well with bananas. It keeps bananas from browning almost twice as long as refrigeration alone.
I have used the cleaning cloths and the Lotus water to clean the stove. It was a breeze. The Lotus water cuts through grease as if it had soap in it. It took less than a minute to wipe down the entire stove top after frying in several pans.
The Lotus water makes a fair to good deodorizer under the arms. Bacteria is what causes us to offend others when hygiene deficient. The Lotus water dispatches underarm bacteria for about six to eight hours. (Gross! I know, but, think about it in the context of global warming and the destructive potential of spray deodarants).
This is a device for thinking Americans. It is a device that has uses in the home every minute. It is a device that enhances the lifestyle of every person conerned about their personal environment.

I have had my Lotus Sanitizing System for a little less than a week now and I love it!!!
I am a cancer patient, recently diagnosed, and also a vegan who eats a great deal of fresh vegetables and fruit. I juice approximately 50 lbs. of carrots per week just for starters. I will be starting chemotherapy this week and the doctors have all emphatically told me that I cannot eat fresh fruits and vegetables unless they can be peeled, but generally not to eat them at all, because of potential bacteria that can lead to infection in chemo patients who have lower immune system functioning. That was shocking to me because those are the foods that we are told are the healthiest for us. I looked around on the web to find out how to wash my produce and quite readily came across the Lotus Sanitizer. Why the physicians don't know about this I'll never know!
I am also a single parent who works the equivalent of 2 full-time jobs, doing low-paid work (teaching and caring for children) so the medical expenses that I currently have, even with self-purchased insurance, are insurmountable. The Tersano Company most graciously donated their Lotus Santizer to me, and had it shipped overnight so that I could have it before I started the chemo treatments. They have been the kindest, most helpful folks that I could ever imagine and I am deeply grateful to them!!!
I have been using the Sanitizer daily since it arrived and it works beautifully! Although I buy organic produce, I have been peeling carrots before I juice them, and when I scrubbed the first batch to put in the sanitizer, I had to run it through twice, because I got the F1 code that says all of the bacteria is not gone (thank goodness for that feature!). However, I bought a stiffer brush to wash the carrots and since then I have only had to run them through the sanitizer once. I have sanitized about 7 very large bunches of spinch and 3 large heads of leaf lettuce and they came out great! Everything I have put through has done very well, with the exception of organic strawberries, and I read somewhere that the little seeds might be a problem, plus berries tend to be the most contaminated. I already can see that I will save a lot of money on produce, because I won't have to peel and throw away all of those peelings from 50 lbs. of carrots per week, plus all of the lettuce and spinach, etc. that goes bad in just a couple of days after I buy it, won't be the case since the Lotus helps produce last longer.
I've also been using the spray bottle attachment to clean my counters and wipe down the bathroom every day. I cannot say enough good things about this system. I wish I had known about it long before, because I could have used much less bleach and ammonia for cleaning purposes. I don't have the mop, but I am going to use the sanitized water today to clean my kitchen floor using the microfiber cloth that came with the system.
This is an awesome product, I am so glad I discovered it and I am so very grateful to this company for their kindness and helpfulness. I am recommending this to everyone I know!!! I am not affiliated with this company in any way, I had never even heard of them until I did a web search trying to find out how to effectively wash produce.

Customer Review: This thing really works ... Prepair to be Amazed!

I suffer from severe allergies. I've literally passed out cold when exposed to various different cleaning fluids, both commercial and for home use. When hospitalized in CCU for rapid heart rate, I was eventually discharged home because the industrial cleaning solutions used at the hospital made my heart rate even more rapid.
Needless to say home cleaning can be a complex and life threatening nightmare for me.
I was hopeful when I purchased the Tersano Lotus Sanitizing System. I'd heard good things about it's ability to clean fruits and veggies. Which is the main reason I purchased it. I didn't know I'd also be able to use water treated by the Lotus to clean around the house.
I was really skeptical about using plain old tap water to disinfect and clean household objects. Sounded way too good to be true, if you know what I mean ... like a come on.
It works, it REALLY works. I'm amazed. I wish I'd taken video of how well it works. I've been going around the house spritzing EVERYTHING I could find that looked dirty ... hubby and both dogs following around going ooooh and ahhhh. Well, maybe not the dogs, they follow humans hoping someone will throw a dog toy or snack ... but you get the picture.
Grease came off the stove, counter top gook vanished, soap scum came off instantly, dirt dissolved ... EVERYTHING smelled fresh. There was no residue to rinse or clean off, no streaks, just simple clean. I didn't get sick, faint or pass out and I didn't need to wear mask or gloves! Wow!
This morning I cleaned the pot, er, ah, toilet ... oh my God ... that worked as well. It took a little elbow grease to clean hard water marks, but then that's to be expected. I used a hard brush and scrubber. I eventually got everything clean and shiny, without needing to ventilate the house, wear HAZMAT gear, or visit the E.R. afterward.
The tidy looked so clean that I dashed into the den and got the husband, (dragged him off the sofa actually - sorry FOX News) and wouldn't leave him alone until he came in and looked at the shiny white pedestal in the bathroom.
Truth be known, I think he's getting a little sick of my rush to spritz every surface in the house. But this is too much fun!!! I haven't been able to do REAL house cleaning in over 10 years. (Don't worry, I've hired someone else to do the dirty work, so my house doesn't look like a toilet.)
This is an astonishing product, at ANY PRICE. It's marvelous that Amazon's price is the cheapest on the planet.
Buy it. You'll save money on cleaners, help the planet and your own health at the same time. What's not to LOVE?!
PS - Had to add a little addendum here. A few days ago my brother-in-law cleaned our extra bathroom from top to bottom. Noteworthy for two reasons, in all the time he's been here, he's never cleaned the bathroom and he used water from the Lotus to do so.
So now I'm not the only one spritzing the house with Lotus water, and our bathrooms look (and smell) great!
