Customer Review: LOVE my Lotus! - (Just be sure to buy the LSR100 model)

I love both my Lotus sanitizing systems!!! I use them 3-5 times a day. You absolutely must read and follow the directions, but it is soooo worth it to take the time. You can clean just about everything in your house with Lotus water -- including your fruits and veggies. I have the LSR100 (newer mini model) and the older LBU100. The newer one is superior. I have never had any trouble with it -- the older model on the other hand is a bit finicky, and I had to have it replaced once. One of my favorite things to clean with it is water bottles -- like the camelback ones my kids use with the straws and mouthpieces. If this were the only thing I used it for it would be worth it! I used to have to soak them in bleach water if I wanted to feel like they were sanitized, then use a lot of water to rinse, rinse, rinse -- now I just throw them in the fruit and veggie bowl and push start -- viola -- CLEAN, SANITIZED, done -- no residue.
I did a fair amount of research before purchasing, and all the CREDIBLE third party sources I could find gave it a thumbs up. The information at TURI (Toxic Use Reduction Institute) at the University of Massachusetts was probably the most compelling. They tested Lotus against ordinary cleaners, green cleaners and plain water -- Lotus did just as well if not better than regular and green cleaners, outscored plain water, and received a 50 out of 50 for safety -- this is actually a higher safety score than vinegar and water.
If you are looking for a chemical free option for cleaning, and have a desire to reduce your personal carbon footprint you will LOVE this system. Again, my only caution would be to go for the newer LSR100 -- and read the directions thoroughly.

UPDATE: After sending the Tersano Co. an angry email, they offered to send me a new base unit if I sent back my non-functioning one and included free shipping to and from so I must take back my criticism, stated below, of their abysmal customer service. However since they claim their Produce Sanitizing System should last between 5 and 10 years, it doesn't make much sense to only offer a one year warranty and neither does having to be seriously angry to get them to stand behind their product. In any case, I just received the new base unit from them and so Tersano did come through generously.
It's a nice idea. The ozone water treatment keeps most veggies and fruit longer than plain washing them but my Lotus 100 lasted just until after the one year warranty was up. Built in obsoleteness? I called the company and was told I'd have to send them $50 plus pay $9 shipping to have the unit repaired. I decided against repair because I believe this product is not well made and I would only have to do another repair soon again or have to purchase a new one. A financial catch is that the unit requires a cartridge attachment which lasts about 3 months or a bit less so at least 4 cartridges need to be purchased for a year of use. I had recently ordered the 4 cartridge package for $29.94 (their website says the same item now cost $35). I was told they would not give me a refund even though the cartridges were still in their original packing. I would not recommend purchasing this short-lived product or dealing with the Tersano mfg. company as I think their customer service is abysmal.

In trying to incorporate more raw foods into my diet, I was looking for a way to get rid of pesticides and bacteria from so much produce, preferably one that wouldn't take up too much of my time. I have been amazed by the Lotus' mold-eliminating potential on items like strawberries. I also noticed that pouring the charged water out of the large bowl and into the sink eliminated the skanky smells that had previously formed in the drain.
Because I don't trust the ingredients in Febreze and many other commercial products, I started using the Lotus to spray down the areas where my cat tends to sit. When I want to disinfect kitchen and bath sinks, and even the caulk around my bathtub (which was starting to turn a little dark in the corners), I fill the sprayer bottle with filtered water first so that there is no mineral buildup.
My latest discovery is in using the charged water to keep mold from forming in my little sprouting experiments. For example, some of my sprouted wheat grass started to smell moldy (after sprouting, before planting), which is a common occurrence with large sprouted seeds, but one brief soak in the O3 fixed that, and the wheat grass turned out to be some of the most vibrant I've ever grown. I water my plants with the O3 water all the time now - they really seem to be thriving, and best of all, my mold allergies are spared these toxins.
While I heartily recommend that everyone have one of these in the kitchen, don't be afraid to use it all over the house and yard (Mother Nature is already using it out there, right?).

Well, I've had this system for over 2 years. I never used it much because I always wondered if it really worked. I tried researching this item, but the best I would get is that this TYPE of system works. They couldn't tell me if this particular manufacturer was legit. I called the actually company because I mix an IV solution (intravenous) at home for my son every other week. I wanted to sterilize the area before I mixed. The company said that it would be fine. I did it twice then went back to alcohol because I just wasn't convinced.
I got this idea to test the system myself. I went to Fry's, they have a kids petri dish experiment kit. It comes with 3 sterile dishes and a nutrient solution for each one that will gel in the dish. I took 3 sterile cotton swabs and swiped my dogs mouth. I then put each swab in each nutrient solution. Swirled them around and put them in their dishes. Then I made one my control. I didn't add anything to this. The 2nd one I sprayed the lotus water system "super oxygenated" water in the dish. The 3rd one I sprayed a cleaning disinfectant I had in the house. The gross bacteria or what ever it was grew in the control and the lotus petri dishes. The 3rd dish had nothing. I took pictures of them. Then I returned the machine to Costco. They are great and took it back, no questions. I even told them I would show them the dishes. They didn't care to see them. Anyway. This product does not work, and I am very irritated that the rep told me I could use this instead of alcohol.

We use this at home and run it soo many times per day! The spray bottle is awesome and I use way less clorox wipes nowadays. Ozone works very well and a simple internet search of the topic will provide worlds of info. Cleans my stove better than any chemical cleaner has...just a few sprays and light scrubbing takes off lots. I cleaned out tea/coffee stains from my stainless mugs easy...just soaked and light scrubbing removed almost all the build up. Took out stains in my rug very nicely too! Great for deodorizing, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens and all. I almost have too much fun thinking of all the things to Lotus waterize. Love being able to prepare salads/veggies/fruit and such without the worry of bag germies making us very sick. Since the water cleans so well... we have even started to gargle with it (although doesn't say we can do so in the instructions)and follow up with brushing teeth! Wow, our teeth got soo much whiter/stain free without the sensitivity of whitening strips. Didn't sting while gargling either, yay! Now our family/friends have a Lotus in their homes too! By the way, the customer service folks at the Lotus company were fantastic. Super knowledgeable since the customer service folks also use the Lotus themselves. And, I had received a faulty spray bottle but Lotus folks took care of it right away. Very happy with the Lotus and we surely feel this is a true wonder gadget!
