Customer Review: Most important tool in my kitchen since 2008

I saw this product on TV, I think it was The Big Idea (off air now) back in 2008. It supposedly did everything I wanted - kills bacteria on fruits and veggies and removes pesticides. Plus, it makes produce last longer, a nice bonus. I wanted proof -- once I got it home, I ran a cycle of water through the bottle sprayer, then dumped it into a bowl (15 mins active ozonated water). I took my stinky, 3-week old kitchen sponge that I typically replace every couple weeks, threw it in the water, sqeezed a few times to saturated, then let it sit for 15 mins. That was all the proof of effectiveness I needed -- that sponge came out fresh as the day I unwrapped it and lasted another three weeks!!! Now I use the spray bottle every weekend to clean down my countertops, inside of refridg, quick freshen toilets -- especially great for cleaning the cutting board after every use, especially after preparing chicken and meats.
I don't eat fruits and veggies without them first passing through this cleaning process. The ozonated water has an odor that lasts for about 15 mins -- but it has zero effect on how the produce smells or tastes. I throw a several ice cubes in the water when I clean my lettuce -- gives it extra just-picked crunch.
I love this product, and highly recommend it. Technological wonder product.

I have had this product in my home for a few months now and I absolutely love it! I can't believe how great it works using only water!
First of all I had some stains (red paint on a beige carpet and grease stains on my white stovetop!!) I thought I would never be able to remove, especially after using many other products, I used the spray bottle and they came out perfectly with just a little elbow grease! I also use this product everyday to clean things like countertops, appliances, my son's highchair, bathrooms, and windows. I use it to spray into diaper pails and the areas where my dogs sleep to take away the odors, also in other rooms in the house just to give them a fresh clean smell.
I use the cleaning bowl every time I come home from the grocery store to clean all of my fruits and veggies, then I clean out the drawers in the fridge with the spray bottle and put all my food right in and ready to eat. I find my fruits and veggies last longer too.
Having 2 young sons at home I find this product is wonderful because I don't have to worry about them breathing in harmful chemicals, it works great on their toys and I can even spray them down too!!
I highly recommend this product to anyone who is contemplating buying it, you won't be disappointed!!

Customer Review: May cause cancer!!! Stay away!!!

After doing some research, here's what I found:
1. ozonation of water is typically done to kill bacteria
2. ozonation is a chemical process that creates ozone, but also causes other chemical reactions
3. One example is that Bromide, if ozonated, will converted to Bromate. (search on bromide, bromate, and ozonation)
4. Dasani (Coca-cola product) water was recalled in March 19, 2004 because there was Bromate found in the water (check wikipedia)
5. Bromate is a possible carcinogen
6. Typically, a carbon filter is used to remove further chemicals from the water (but it does not exist in this particular lotus product)
7. It is unknown what chemicals are on non-organic fruits
8. The Lotus product claims that it will reduce the toxins on fruits.
I can conclude from my research (looking at the facts above), that you may be actually making the situation worse by converting chemicals into other chemicals. I would refrain from buying this product until more research is proven otherwise.
Frankly, I'm disappointed with Sharper Image selling us potentially dangerous products like: 1. this lotus product 2. the ionic air purifiers that create ozone and cause breathing problems. It's funny now that they make ionic air purifiers that filter out the ozone with a carbon filter.

We purchased this sanitizing system because it sounded very promising and had many great reviews. We received this item yesterday and "wasted" all afternoon trying to get a single cycle to go through but continuously received F1 error messages. The system just worked fine with the bottle attached to the base, but anytime the bowl was attached with products, without products the F1 would should up again at around 97% (like it happened to the previous reviewer). We then called the 800 number showing on the base and all we got was a recording repeating the error messages as they are showing in the instruction manual. Then there was a message saying if you want to talk to someone to press ZERO for the operator, when doing so you received a message "no operator" available. After calling four times we are pretty upset and disappointed. We are stuck with a product that we cannot ask any questions about whether we might be possibly doing something wrong or if the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. After seeing the review from 2 days ago with the same problems I am wondering if the company has a "bad batch" out there right now, but how would I know not being able to talk to someone. I should charge them for my wasted time and my hourly rate is not cheap. This is and has been a very ridiculous experience with the manufacturer/seller......Customer Review: Thought this was another useless appliance...however

At the recommendation of a friend I decided to check into this appliance. I went to the Tersano website, checked out their blog, read several of the reviews here, and then decided to take the plunge and try this thing out. I have had it for about two weeks and really have enjoyed it. Actually, it does not take me longer to clean my fruits and veggies. I just set up a little assembly line, process in the Lotus Sanitizer, drain, start the next batch and continue with other chores while this takes place. Now I can really throw a quick salad together at a later time since I'm not putting anything in the fridge, or fruit bowl until everything has processed through the Lotus Sanitizer.
One good test. Ran black rasberries and blueberries through the system, drained and put on a paper towel in a container in my fridge, after 4 days, they are just as fresh as if they had been picked off the bush. Ordinarily, they would have started molding by now, especially if I had rinsed them first.
As far as the error messages some have reported. I have had a few. I just dump that water, refill, process again until the process has completed sucessfully. I actuly like those little messages, because they help you to know what to do to complete the cycle sucessfully. I highly recommend this product.
