when I received this plug In extend A bell item, I was kind of expecting
a system that required no wiring at all, something similiar to what I
had about five years ago that performed well but wore out.
I returned this item to the seller unopened, so I can't rate it fairly,
but I had to for this review, it just wasn't what I was looking for.
The seller CrazyDavesToolShed very promptly refunded my money.
In the meantime, I will continue to search for an extend A bell,
that you just plug in only that has no additional attachments.

I thought this was the perfect solution to my problem, how to hear the front and back doorbells upstairs. I ordered two and installed them, neither one would work. OK, so I put the receiver in the same room as the transmitter, still wouldn't work.
I called the manufacturer, the CSR was stumped; "You'll have to talk with Mike". I left Mike a message, he never called back. The vendor was unresponsive about an RMA, but Amazon finally set my account right.
It would appear that they work for some people, but I think the likelihood that they will work for you is not high.

I just bought one of these at my local Menards and had to take it back--you could barely hear the chimes. They replaced it, of course, and the replacement was satisfactory.
BTW, it is $3 cheaper on Amazon (including shipping and not calculating in the $1.59 in gas to to Menards once--and I had to make two trips. (You need to figure in the cost of gas for local purchases). But I wanted it right away.
I've order extra receivers via Amazon. I hope they are loud enough because it is easier to take items back to a local retailer than to mail them back.

We could not hear the front door bell chime at the back end of the house on the first floor and in some of the rooms on the second floor. I installed the Extend A Bell transmitter and two recievers and we can now hear the front door bell throughout our house. The transmitter is easy to install following the easy to understand instructions. The receivers just plug into any electrical wall plug. We are very happy with the system and it works well.Customer Review: Got a defective unit, but return was handled great

After setting it up, it worked except that the volume on the recevier, even when set to high, could barely be heard. Worked through Lamson Tech Support and they determined it was defective and that I should return to where I bought it. When I contacted DS Home Solutions, they handled the return quick and easy.
If I had received a working unit, it would have been a great solution for us.
