I could have rented one for 8 days at the price I paid for this one. I am doing a basement by myself and needed it for more than 8 days to do 1600 square feet of ceilings. It worked well with a few minor adjustments and some WD-40 to get out the squeaks. The construction is a bit crude but very solid. It weighs about 98 lbs and costs almost 100 dollars to ship but at the 74 dollar price it was worth it. Cool thing is that I can sell it for 100 bucks after I am finished and recover some of the cost.
Shipping was fast and product was in good shape when it arrived.

The panel lift seems to be a good unit. I haven't used it to lift the sheets of plywood to the ceiling yet but I will tell you what I do know and that is it was a breeze to put together. I had NO problems ay all. It is really heavy duty and made of good material. I put it together in my house and then had to move it outside but it comes apart in 3 sections to make that job easy also. I tried it out in the house and everything works great and it lifted my weights as high as I wanted them to be. I'm sure it will last me a lifetime.Customer Review: This drywall lift works PERFECT!

I was a little skeptical at first purchasing this unit as it is SOOO inexpensive. I took a chance and am I glad I did not spring for one that was more expensive. I am in the process of finishing my basement and this is a lifesaver. Not only can you use it to hang the ceiling but also can use it to mount the top sheet to the horizontal walls! This is making the job a one person build! I can find no "cheap" spot on the machine that has me concerned that this will not last me a lifetime. This lift hoist was very easy to set up and has saved my back and prevented possible injury on several occassions. It not only lifted and supported drywall during a basement finishing project, it also lifted a large beam into place to replace a load bearing wall that was removed.
