If you have trees needing trimming (and a trimmer that accepts Troy-Bilt attachments), then you're going to want one of these sweet little pole saws. I've only used it twice, but I'm really impressed with the quality of this tool and the ease with which it cuts.
I'm only 5'7', but I found I could cut about 15' off the ground using the included extension. To those of you thinking about trying to extend the boom further, my advice is don't. If you don't damage your tools, you may damage yourself. In any case, unless you're in extraordinary shape, you're going to feel the burn using just the one extension provided for more than about 15 minutes. If you need to cut higher than you can reasonably reach, resign yourself to the fact that you're going to need a ladder.
At bottom, I think this tool's worth it's weight in gold.

Not bad of a unit. Takes a bit of practice to make sure the chain doesn't get ragged on something in which it wont turn. My biggest beef though, is the pole portion is too short. I kept wishing for another 3-4 extra feet of extension which really helps with higher trees. Since the pole section is just a generic drive unit, I'm wondering if I can just purchase an additional pole. However, no info on this exists in the manual or manufacturer's web site.
As for power, that of course depends on what type of trimmer motor is powering the unit. I have a Troy-Bilt 31cc 2 cycle and it has more than enough power -- I only had to use full throttle on the trunks, never on the thick branches since there was never a lack of power. The modulation of the throttle with the trimmer motor makes it wonderful to use.

This saw was suprisingly great! I used this saw for about 20 hours over a three day period. I was able to trim my entire lane road without using a dangerous ladder with a chainsaw or standing in a tractor loader bucket. The saw can easily cut 8in limbs. The attachment quality is excellent and cuts limbs nearly as fast as a small chainsaw.
I own a $400 Stihl saw and have cut hundreds of large oak logs for a local lumber mill so I wasn't expecting much from this saw. I was really surprised with the cutting speed. This attachment is perfect for any homeowner or someone that wants to cut high limbs the easy way.

Having use it only a short time one afternoon , it preformed well . The saw seem`s to be fairly well made .I have No" complaint`s with the saw it`s self. I Would How ever , like to know Who or where from , to but spair part`s for the saw .... Namely a spair chain for the thing , since I didn`t recive any book or paper work from the Troy - Built Co..... The people that built the piece of equipment . Can not find anything on Line about part`s for the saw , from TroyBuilt web site or other wise . Maybe the Troybuilt Co. Expect`s a person to just buy a whole new pole saw when this chain ware`s out or break`s .

Works beautifully. Easy to install and operate. Does a terrific job at what it is designed to do. The 8" bar does things like clearing heavy bushes/brush and trimming tree limbs with ease.
My only regret is that I waited way too long to buy this unit. I did a lot of this work over the years using small hand saws and heavy chain saws while standing on a ladder. This Pole saw makes the work a lot less tiring and definitely a lot safer.
Also note that Amazon.com has the absolute best price around for this Polesaw including Ebay which I use often.
