I usually will rate my entire customer experience with the product ... including purchase and delivery.
Great sale price at the time ... however, once again, Amazon lives up to form with respect to shipping. I wonder if it is possible for me to ship them a roll of packing tape for usage on all of my orders??
The box arrived last night ... with parts taped to the outside. It seems that the Amazon shipping department STILL hasn't learned what a roll of packing TAPE is yet. BOTH package ends were ripped open since it was shipped in its native packaging and there is quite a bit of weight in the box. At least UPS managed to get all of the parts delivered! There are some scratches on it, and I will be calling Amazon after I write this review. At least all of the pieces managed to arrive.
Documentation is poor ... there is no included documentation, (at least that was delieverd) ... the documentation is on the outside of the box, which is a total diaster with all the tape that UPS used to tape the pieces to the outside of the box. Just some tape from amazon around the ouside ends of the box would have prevented this problem.
Functionally, I haven't mounted it yet. When I do, I might come back here and rerate the product, but for now it being rated at 1 star.
Call after call, and complaint after complaint to Amazon NEVER seems to improve their shipping problems. I can get a large roll of THICK packing tape for $1 at the dollar store ... I am SURE that Amazon can get it for even cheaper. If they use the right size boxes for items they ship AND use more that one strip of THIN packing tape (when they use tape at all), they would have less shipping costs AND make customers like me, even more satisfied.
Oh well ...

I have to start out that I really like this product. I have been using it for a couple of months and for anyone that does even a little woodworking, this is a real time saver for getting both your scrap and stock wood organized and easy to sort through.
With that said, there is really no way that they can get this to you in one piece. Like most people, I read the reviews that said that his had bad packaging and ordered it anyway assuming that the problem had been corrected or that I would get lucky. No such luck!
The first shipment of this product had an actual piece of the product protruding out of the box. UPS had taped the parts in place outside of the box & it was a real work of art. When I opened the box, all of the hardware was missing and several other pieces were missing. Amazon replaced the product and the second try for this product was a little better. Between the two shipments, I hatched together enough pieces to put the thing together. Ok, I actually had to make a run to the hardware store to replace some missing screws.
Little did I know, my fun on this item had just begun. Even though the problem with packaging is clearly an issue, you will be responsible for finding a new box (the original one is useless) and returning the remnants of the broken shipment back for credit. Finding a box that is this big and getting it back to a shipping company is a chore. You should keep this in mind before buying this item here.
Great Product, Horrible Packaging and the trouble will be all yours!

The Triton Wood Rack is well designed and reasonably priced. I purchased three of these wood racks, and the total cost was less than a competitor's lumber storage system. I purchased three wood racks so I could handle lumber longer than 8 feet. The one problem I ran into with this product was the packaging and shipping. The painted parts are packaged against each other, so almost every painted part arrived with scratches, scrapes and gouges. I believe this damage was caused by the shipping process. These wood racks are shipped in the manufacturer's original box. These boxes are not meant to be shipping containers. They are meant to be display boxes. All three boxes broke open during shipping, and one box lost the bag of mounting hardware. Amazon was quick to send a replacement wood rack. The replacement wood rack also broke open during shipping. The bag of mounting hardware was not lost, but three of the twelve shelf pieces were missing, and as with the three previously shipped wood racks, most of the painted parts were scratched, scraped or gouged. If these wood racks were shipped inside a corrugated cardboard box with air bags, none of the damage would have occurred. Everything else I have purchased from Amazon, has always been packaged in corrugated cardboard boxes with air bags. I don't understand why these Triton Wood Racks are sent with no protection.Customer Review: Davey Crockett

This is a great product, easy to install and its heavy duty.I had made one out of wood before I saw this Item.The problem with it was I had to put a strip on the front so you had to slide the boards in and out.This is hard if you have a small shop or long boards.The only thing I would suggest to Triton would be to add a third bar,because if you have short and long boards its hard to adapt.If you set it up for short boards it's to close for the long boards and if setup for long boards it's to far apart for the short boards.Also if you put it to far apart for long boards they will sag.Thats the reason I only gave it four Stars.I solved that problem I bought a second one.I guess thats why it only comes with two bars.They make more money if you have to purchase two.If you are mounting it directly to studs it its kind of hard to adjust for the board size you want.It would be 32, 48, 64,etc.This make it a little hard to adjust for short and long boards.You could run boards across the studs and mount it that way.I guess it depends on how nice you you want your shop to look.I have drywall on my walls so I don't want to do that.Hope this review helps.Customer Review: packaging definitely needs work

I received this item and the box looked, like it was a return item from
someone else that did not like the item and returned it, then it was shipped to me. But it was a brand new item. I feel the same way as others that reviewed this item, in that it should be put into another box to be shipped.
I think there would be a lot less missing pieces from the box that way.
As there is heavy tubeing that slides around in the box and brake the taped edges of box and things goes missing. I was missing 4 shelfs, contacted amazon and they will be sending a replacement wood rack. So will see if this one goes any better. As for the wood rack itself, I have heard good coments about the rack and from what I seen before I had to send the partial shipment back, it looked like a very sturdy rack. So, if you can get all the pieces in one try you will like this rack, but it is like gambleing, you have to take a chance. Good luck.
