Customer Review: Justifies getting the trimmer

This accessory is a good solution for my particular needs:
- I have about an acre of yard with more leaves than can decompose from mulch-mowing alone.
- I'm no longer willing to spend the time raking up the excess.
- I didn't want to maintain yet another small gasoline motor.
- My wheaten terrier is fascinated by it.
So if you have a lot more or a lot less than an acre, are not lazy, can field strip a two-cycle blindfolded, or own a sane dog, you might want to consider sticking to a rake or getting a more powerful, dedicated blower.
It takes some getting used to. The pivot point is several feet away so instead of turning your wrist, you have to square dance around the yard, doing a dose-doe each time you try to herd leaves into a pile rather than into your neighbor's yard.
The curved shaft gets disconcertingly hot.
But I still like it. It's powerful enough to move everything but oak leaves velcroed to the grass, which I mulch anyway. It takes up little space, and it gives my fussy neighbors the illusion that I care about my yard's appearance. Like the troy-bilt trimmer, I'm not too keen on its ergonomics. But the advantages of single sourcing the motor outweigh the disadvantages.
