I bought this item about 5-6 months ago, for my main door. I was apprehensive after reading some negative reviews here, but atleast for me, the thing works. The product itself is somewhat cheap, and I'm guessing costs about 50 cents to make. Essentially some styrofoam inside pockets that are connected. I bought the product for two reasons: 1) To keep small animals such as spiders, flies, bees, etc from entering through the gap at the bottom of the front door. 2) To reduce the amount of hot air from getting out during the winter, and cold air getting out during the summer. And the product has done a good job at both these tasks. It might not be high-tech or fancy, but it has worked for me. I have carpet right near the door (not like elevated rugs or anything, just floor carpet) and it works fine for me to open doors, not too much to pull the door or close it, and the product stays on. If the product is a bit small, I would suggest, going to UPS and getting styrofoam peanuts. I believe a small bag costs about $2 (it's used for shipping), and you can fill the pockets in the draft guard with them. This allows the pockets to expand out further, giving more surface area with which it can block animals from entering, and reduce the amount of airflow around that door. And since these peanuts are light weight, it won't affect opening/closing the door as much either. And the larger shape might also help it from not slipping underneath the door. It's just a suggestion, if you are having problems with the product. I think it's a product that does it's job for the money that you pay for it.
