Customer Review: Better than the reviews indicate.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought mine directly from the U-Glue site. I had no issues, though shipping was a little slow - especially compared to Amazon Prime! I really like this stuff, but it isn't any sort of miracle adhesive. This is a flexible, semi-hard glue like the kind used to hold labels to baking pans or the "winning key" in an auto dealer flyer. But, it is much stickier than that stuff and stretches a lot - like those 3-M removable hooks.

I glued down all of the area rugs in my home - to both hardwood and tile. It has been six weeks of use and cleanings and it is still holding strong. For that purpose alone this stuff is worth the money. I also hung some light-weight hooks that hold car keys and a dog chain. I used small pieces on the corners of all the paintings in the house to keep them from shifting and rattling. I repaired a piece of molding on the television cabinet door. I mounted some foam padding to a bench I was recovering. Finally, I put some on the arm covers for my recliner. Everything is holding great, though the recliner covers come up when vacuumed. But, they go back down and stay too.

Like any adhesive, if you use it for the right job, it works great. This is for medium duty bonds that need to be "removable." U-Glue also comes off cleanly. I had a nightmare situation where double-backed tape holding down a carpet ruined the finish on hardwood, so I kept a close eye on this stuff. I took it off several times with no problems and then put it right back and it is holding just fine. I'm still on the original pieces, too.

I will say to be careful not to let touch itself or you'll end up just trashing that piece. It is really sticky stuff and once it gets tangled up, it is impossible to get it straight again. It is also very important to make sure the two surfaces you are joining are clean.

Customer Review: Has its Pros & Cons Depending on Intended Use

Hope this helps someone. UGlu overall is a very good product and works close to what it says. However as with most advertising, UGlu's presentation of the product can be slightly misleading. If you're looking to create a bond between two surfaces that CAN NOT move, even slightly, then this product is not for you. UGlu is a great bonding material, but remains flexible. To quote the pamphlet in the UGlu box, "Adhesive "DOES NOT" hold well in projects such as attaching a teacup handle or a piece of a figurine".

The only other things not clearly stated are: (1) If used on fabrics, may not hold up in a washing machine (2) May not adhere well on materials that contain oils such as silicon rubber & may fail over time on material such as vinyl car dashboards which release oils (3) Adhesive becomes more brittle in cold & more liquid in hotter temperatures (4) Breaks down over time in direct sunlight, including through a window (5) IS NOT recommended for use on Suede at all!

This is an excellent product for use wherever you'd usually use something like Liquid Nail or contact cement, etc. UGlu makes the job a whole lot easier and cleaner. It's great for use in small areas too. Very easy to apply and the bond is instant. It does not stick to skin.

Keep in mind that UGlu is a bit thicker than it may appear. It is very thin, but if you're planning on using it to bond a thin material you will notice a slight "bump" in the location of the adhesive. For example, if you use UGlu to bond a photo into a photo album, you'd notice where the UGlue is. The photo will not lay completly flat.

If the formentioned doesn't apply negatively to what you would like to use UGlu for, chances are you'll be very satisfied with it.

Customer Review: UGlu, U S**K!
Summary: 1 Stars

Everything I've tried with UGlu has come UnGlu'd. Real challenging stuff like plastic on plastic, rubber on rubber, pictures on walls. Good thing I didn't try hanging over a river full of crocodiles with nothing but UGlu holding me up. UGlu failed on everything within 48 hours and all was within the stated temperature range. I tried sticking a disc for a GPS on my dash. I cleaned the dash and disc thoroughly with alcohol so there would be no residue of anything on it. The next morning I thought someone had ripped off my brand new TomTom until I realized that if someone HAD ripped it off they would've had to use some kind of super-power since all the doors were still locked and my car was in a locked garage. So I looked on the floor and there it was. I could go on with more examples but I thought that was a no-brainer situation for UGlu.

It sucks, well no...I wish it DID suck, let's say it's just crappy enough to fail the bond between two items, but then just try getting it off of the one thing it decided to stick to. You know that demo they show of it peeling off like a section of 3-day old sunburned skin, all in one piece? Well it does sort of come off like 3-day old sunburned skin. But not grabbing one end, like they show, and pulling the whole section off. No, more like the kind of skin you have to rub real hard with your fingers so it sort of disintegrates or forms little balls from the friction.

Bottom line? U're better off if u save ur money! UGlu is du-du!

Customer Review: Transaction Questionable
Summary: 1 Stars

I see two problems with this company's practices.

1. The product is advertised as $10 for 75 pieces with a $3.99 shipping cost that takes "4-6 weeks" to receive. Of course the customer will opt for the $7.99 shipping alternative that gets the product to you in 3-5 days. They do say online that the $7.99 is applied to "each" item in the order. I was charged $29.95 for shipping and received ONE box with 300 pieces in it. No doubt the 300 pieces raised the shipping to $29.95 due to the $7.99 shipping cost per "item". But, the 300 pieces comes in one manufacturer printed box that's pre-labeled with "300 pieces", which means their shipping people conducted ONE shipping transaction and charged for three.

2. I agree with another reviewer who stated that they were unable to view the total cost for shipping before being charged. I was unable to preview the total cost of shipping or the total cost of the order itself. That should be ILLEGAL. They shouldn't be able to charge your card without first giving you the chance to preview the total order and opt out if you choose to. I also never received the email confirmation they said I'd receive.

I don't intend to pursue this with the company because their internet practices tell me that my attempts will be futile. I will pursue this with the bank and possibly look into additional avenues of consumer complaint.

Customer Review: doesn't work as advertised, but it's still handy
Summary: 3 Stars

The infomercials for U-Glu are completely misleading...no WAY would this product pick up and hold onto steel -- it can't even hold a framed photo on the wall. I gave it a shot with a lightweight one, and it fell right off!

It does still have a use, though. U-Glu is great for keeping things where you put them: furniture, area rugs, framed photos on the wall, etc. I've even used it to secure framed photos on my bookcase so they wouldn't fall over when the kids slam the door (works like a charm) and to secure the banister spindles to the floor (the kids had discovered a few weren't tight and twisted them until they spun completely).

It removes easily and without making a mess, although it's a little hard to work with. U-Glu is quite sticky and balls up very quickly, and it doesn't flatten back out without an exceptional amount of weight placed on it. It has paper on both sides, so depending on your application, it would be best to peel one side, apply the U-Glu, then remove the other side so it doesn't ball up.

So, don't buy it based on what you see in the infomercials, because you'll be sorely disappointed. But if you need to keep things in place after they're properly hanged, placed, etc. this is a great solution.
