Tools and Hardware Reviews of Remote Control Timer SetCustomer Review: Remote UPM timer best I've found so far! Summary: 5 Stars
A previously purchased timer (on Amazon: Amertac TEO5W/20) annoyed me because it would erase my 20 settings whenever I turned the timer "ON" manually, then went back to "AUTO". This APM remote control works perfectly. I click "ON" and "OFF" on the remote and now it remembers all of my settings! Instructions were large print/easy to read. Cool front-facing, large LED screen readout. Also, the three prong plug in the back is positioned towards the bottom half of the unit. Say you have a two-opening receptacle. This unit allows you to plug it into the top receptacle, leaving enough of an opening to use the bottom one for some other appliance with a simple plug (ie: another fat AC plug won't fit). All previously owned timers have their plugs in the middle of the unit, so when plugged in, it covers up a two-opening receptacle which wass a waste. The only wish I had for this unit was that the two button batteries located inside the main unit were built-in/rechargeable (like previously owned units). I hear these type of batteries burn up quick. What if I want to unplug my unit in six months to change a couple of settings and find out that the unit goes blank because the batteries died? Will my unit loose all of the settings until I replace batteries? Guess I'll find out eventually. Point of the batteries is to allow seamless power "ON" when either plugged or un-plugged. Also, so that I don't have to crawl on the floor to do my resetting while the unit is plugged into the wall. Basically, it would be great if this unit had a "battery low" indicator. Otherwise, I recommend this unit!
