This product is not as tall as advertised; it falls short of 8.5' so probably fits 8' ceilings. Moreover, the instructions are blatantly inaccurate - the diagram shows an assembly of 6 poles when only 5 are included in the package. After contacting the seller, they sent me another without requesting the first be returned. Adding on a pole from the second package (therefore using 6 total), the product fits 9'5" with a struggle: I had to cut the stainless steel spring inside so that it would compress to the correct length. In other words, the product is not easily adjustable to intermediate lengths (without a hacksaw). The final product looks fine from a distance, although it bows in the middle and shows rust where the paint has already chipped. Bottom line, you have many other (better) options at comparable prices.
