Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

This is what I learned about european adapters...
We traveled to Berlin, Germany and I had heard mixed things about voltage converters and adapters and what you needed for European travel. I bought these converters as well as a voltage adapter (SIMRAN 200 WATTS STEP DOWN CONVERTER MODEL SMF-200 FOR TRAVELLING OVERSEAS). The converters were perfect because the outlets in all the houses in Berlin were circular and these were a perfect fit. I also discovered (through a lot of research) that most electronics (DVD players, PSP, etc...) have adapters built in to the power cords and if the adapter reads 100 - 240v, than it can be used in Europe with just the converter (no need for the voltage adapter). We brought a dvd player, a PSP, a video camera and a gameboy DS. The only item that required the voltage adapter was the DS. I am not even sure I needed it, but I didn't want to fry it either so I used it to be safe. Hope this helps! This was the information I was desperately searching for before our trip.

Customer Review: Much better than those flat adapters
Summary: 5 Stars

I recommend this round adapter for US 3-prong as well as 2-prong plugs. Why? Because it has a nice snug fit on both sides. This makes it much more stable in the Euro/Schuko socket unlike the flat 2-prong ones that in my experience tend to have a loose connection or even fall out of the socket - esp. if yours is a heavy cable or if it has one of those AD/DC converters at the plug end pulling down on the adapter. Plus, this adapter has a nice lip which makes it easier to pull out of the socket. Good quality for the price. I paid mine $2.50/piece shipped -- make sure you don't overpay as there are many merchants selling at very different prices, some as high as $10/piece with shipping price included.

Lastly, keep in mind, the schuko socket fits most European countries but not all - most notably UK, and Italy which have their own plugs.

Customer Review: Great little adapter for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I just returned from Germany and this little adapter was the most effective little thing. Although it is not universal to the entire planet, it fits snugly into the EU recepticals and leaves room for others if you happen to be using a power strip. Some of my travel companions had the big box adapters that required us to strategically place our plugs so one didn't block the others. Those of us that had these were the "easy" ones to work around because they didn't stick up, plus they fit nice and tight. The reason this is important is because outlets in EU aren't like in the states, they do not have outlets on every wall, in addition there isn't abundant space so 4 of us shared one compact conference room. I took one of these and one of the box adapters that had a USB outlet and this one worked best for our environment.

Customer Review: Great plug adapter
Summary: 5 Stars

We have a friend that lives in Germany that recommended this plug to us. We have traveled to Germany,Austria and Hungary 3 times and this little plug works just great. We have used it to charge our camera,Kindle and to use our netbook without any problems. It also worked for us in Venice,Italy.
We had to buy a separate plug for Switzerland which uses a 3 prong plug not a 2 prong plug..
The only problem was we bought 6 to take on our European vacation and returned with only one! We kept on leaving them behind! Thank goodness they didn't cost too much. Keep the plug on the ends of everything that you are using on your trip when you take it out of the electrical outlet. This way you won't leave your plugs behind.Buy one for everything you are using on your trip.

Customer Review: nice idea, but bad worksmanship
Summary: 3 Stars

I got a bunch of these for my extended European adventure. They seemed to have a nice design. The problem is that they are not build very well, the inside metal parts are very weak and often get out of alignment. Some of them were twisted before I tried to use them, some of them bent the first time a tried to plug in a device. overall about half gave me problems. if you will keep something permanently plugged in, it's not going to be a big issue, but if you will plugging things in and out, it will be. The other (smaller) issue is that they don't actually fit powerstrips that well. I imagined that they would be flush with the top of the strip, but instead they stick out a bit.
With all that, they may be the best deal you can find :)
