The plug did work for us in France. We used it for a week. Unfortunately, the face plate continually popped off when we would try to pull the adaptor out of the plug. It is tricky to try to get it out with all of that metal sticking out at you. I managed to get through the week without a shock, but I was glad I didn't have my kids with me!
I would just pay more money next time and get one that lasts and is safer.

So I purchased this assuming that it would work in Italy with my (adaptable) laptop (grounded plug). Well, the first outlet I tried didn't fit this...but the next 2 did. All in all, Italian plugs are hit-or-miss with this. It IS larger than the standard plugs for southern europe, but I've found it oddly works on many (without jamming it into the wall). Cheap, useful, small. Cannot complain!Customer Review: Ummm, Just One?!?!

I haven't gone on my trip yet to tell all of you how the product actually works, but I thought I would give you all heads up that you only get one! I was so disapointed because the picture shows 2! What a perfect example of bate and switch! So be prepared to pay over $10 for one stinking plug lol. (Would have liked to have 2 because I will be traveling with a friend.) Taken a trip. There is alot out on the internet about what you need for power conversion when you travel overseas. Most of what I read was on the edge of misleading - trying to get you to buy more than what was necessary.
The adapters where exactly what I needed and they were a terrific price. I wasn't able to find any less expensive. The deliver was fast, as well.

I bought this adapter so I could use electronic devices with American plugs in France. It fits well into round grounded European schuko sockets, but will not fit into the smaller recessed non-grounded sockets I was surprised to find in many places. If you only use non-grounded American plugs, the smaller non-grounded adapter will be more versatile as it will fit in all sockets.
