This is a great basic digital multi-meter. It does everything it should, is easy to use, and is accurate. Unlike another reviewer, I had no problems opening the back to replace the battery, nor did I encounter any other problems. Speaking of the battery though, when this product arrived, it came with an included 9V battery, which wasn't hooked up (as it should be), however, the battery was dead on arrival. No big problem, but perhaps you should have some backup batteries on hand prior to its arrival.Customer Review: Very fragile multimeter. Do not drop!

This meter is cute and handy, but not practical. Mine did not last one week
The ball bearings under the range selector pop out of positon, the sliding copper contacts on the selector are held in place by FRICTION, and the battery compartment contacts are the flimsiest I have ever seen. I repaired it twice, and then gave up.
Leave it on your desk at home and test batteries with it. Buy a much sturdier meter for the field.

As the name of the review says, it is cheaply made but is cheap to buy. It worked well for the first 6 months. Then the voltage started wavering a lot and I had to wonder how accurate it was. I have since lent it to a friend, he says it works fine. I bought another one for $10 more, and prefer it to this one quite a bit. Up to you if you want super cheap or middle of the line for a little bit more. Probably fine for people who don't use it much.Customer Review: handy gadget

Actually quite a little gadget for the money. I bought it primarily for testing small batteries, it does this in the indirect way of telling you how much electrial flow they can generate, but that may be more useful than simply measuring apparent voltage. The rest of the multimeter is just a bonus. Doesn't seem to have an 'auto-off' so dont' forget to turn it off with the switch or interal battery will drain.Customer Review: OK after changing the battery

I wrote a review before complaining that this multimeter reads the voltage erroneously high. The display was showing a battery sign, but at the same time the display being very sharp made me think the battery should be fine. Now, I changed the battery and the reading seems to be acceptable. I changed my mind and now believe it is a good product for the price.
