Tools and Hardware Reviews of Ventamatic CX1500 Power Gable Ventilator FanCustomer Review: Simple, low-cost solution Summary: 5 Stars
This fan works well. It is easy to install and simple to operate. There is no speed control. You simply select the cutoff temperature. There is no on/off switch either though I wired one into the circuit to give me more control.
The fan is relatively quiet and creates good airflow. The only caution I would raise is that you really should enclose the air outflow. If you just attach the fan to rafters or studs leaving the air outflow exposed, it will not work efficiently. You risk having the outflow pulled back into the house. The outflow enclosure is something you'll have to design for yourself.
Customer Review: great product, great price Summary: 4 Stars
This attic fan is powerful, well made, easy to install and is about 1/2 the cost of other brands of attic fans of it's size. The included prewired thermostat is accurate. I used the attic fan in my green house and it is not really that loud. A great unit! So why not a 5 star rating? The included mounting brackets do not allow for multiple mounting surfaces within restricted areas...but hey, I was still able to mount it with very little effort.
Customer Review: ventamatic cx1500 pwr gable fan Summary: 3 Stars
So far so good. My A/C has been running less. Fan noise is not an issue, however fan is mounted in gable over family room, could be an issue if over a bedroom. Only issue is the mounting brackets, just be sure of clearances with mount bolts and fan before final mounting. You might have to take up gap between fan and mounting surface, I used aluminum tape to seal any gaps. Wiring was simple, however I had junction box within 6ft.
Customer Review: Simple and functional as reviews stated. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased three of these fans based on the reviews on Amazon. I have never installed any fans whatsoever and the reviews proved true, saying that they were simple and easy to install. It took about an hour and a half to install, three vents fans I purchased for a very large house. I used 2 x 4 between two wall studs to mount the fan on. I am pleased with the fans ease of installation and operation especially for the price.
Customer Review: Why pay more? Summary: 5 Stars
Easy to install. Quiet operation. Working perfect. Excellent price. Glad I bought it here. Love it!
I installed this with the metal Home Depot vent, without the thermostat and used a digital timer (from Home Depot). I also wired the attic, replaced soffits and baffles and added 18 inches more of blown in fiberglass insulation.
Wow, I'm ready for winter and hoping for much lower heating bills.
